Posting for traffic, sorry. About a week ago I felt as though there was something unusual in my tummy. I did a preg test, negative. The squidgy mass is still there and tonight as I was lying on my back I prodded my tummy quite firmly and then felt a lot of movement. If it were a baby it would be about 4 months, but I have done the test plus have had periods, albeit a bit light. Any idea what it might be other than a baby? I am thinking gas but it was a lot of movement. I was also woken up by a movement a few days ago. Thank you.

Worms? Apparently a roundworm infestation can feel like that, they can clump together in a ball and even block the intestine if untreated. Do you eat a lot of rare steak? Have you travelled abroad recently to a country with poor water sanitation?

I'd go see a doctor asap

Sounds like wind in your intestines to me

Have you had a baby before? Could you have diastasis recti? Separated tummy muscles? I have it after my pregnancies. I have a very hard ball around my tummy button, and because all my innards (technical term) are pushed forwards with no muscles in front protecting them, when I lie on my back I can literally see food moving through my gut. It is honestly like a scene from Alien. Surgery scheduled for later this month 😬

Glad that was taken in the manner intended! I dunno. It could be a number of things, I'd do another pregnancy test and get thee down a GP surgery. Hope you get it figured out. x

hey OP did you ever find out?

alilstressed · 24/10/2018 00:19

I have fibrosis and recognise your symptoms. Do go to the GP.

SuchAToDo · 24/10/2018 00:21

See a dr, I felt movement before buy had no pain no symptoms whatsoever, a scan showed I had a large cyst with fluid in it, so don't try and diagnose it yourself, see a dr

See. A. Doctor. Its higly likely nothing at all. your bowels move around more than you think for instance, but in the event you are pregnant or it something more sinister you need to see someone.

Inky 😂😂😂 that made me spit my tea

It felt really odd on the evening I posted but it has died down now and I had forgotten all about it (sorry to everyone because the responses are really appreciated!). If there is anything unusual still after dc has gone back to school I will go to the doctor. I had a look at all the other things very helpfully suggested (thank you!) and I took another pregnancy test which was negative, which I was sad about in some ways but actually now would have been difficult for all sorts of reasons.

Thank you for asking.

inky dark humour is always appreciated at these times Grin
