Just for fun!
Everyone looks back at things they used to wear or trends they followed and cringes! I'd like to start off by sharing my fashion disasters and would love to hear everyone else's!

1990s - velvet flares, blue patent platform mules, a lime green spice girls t shirt and crimped hair. I'm sure I'm not the only one!

Goth phase - long black velvet dresses, stripy socks, then the cyber goth outfits with plastic dreadlocks, goggles and platform bootsConfused

The white on top and black underneath over straightened hairstyle - looked like a seagull had pooped on my head

Early 2000s - wearing a dress over trousers, with pointy boots.

But I think the most embarrassing was the pink juicy couture style tracksuit with sparkly writing. I'm cringing just thinking about it.

I think I need to consult a stylist!

Those massive trousers with the tassels hanging off them with boob tube. The tassels always fell in the toilet... gross!

Really low slung jeans with thong above. Worst mistake was the one which was metal and diamonte up the back.... I ended up with a rash up my crack which was not a good look 😂

Wearing basques as tops with mini skirts or low slung baggy jeans. Can't believe my mum let me leave the house like it!!

As a young teenager awful clothes from Tammy girl... tye dye tops with words like 'babe' in sequins across the front.

Ha! I won a radio competition for £1000 and a personal stylist and a makeover on the back of neon orange satin trousers and a kind of ‘magic eye’ orange and white shirt combo - I also had it in fluorescent green Blush

DisplayPurposesOnly · 21/10/2018 09:15

Three words that should never be seen together: purple satin dungarees.

Hmm

Looking back at some of the stuff I used to wear, a lot of it seems absolutely hideous to me now. But I never refer to anything I or anyone else wore as a fashion disaster. Many people wear things that reflect trends of the moment. So whatever seems hideous now probably wasn't hideous then. The other thing is fashion always tends to make a comeback. So you never know, you might find those shoulder pads making a return again Grin

I used Sun in on my hair. I spent months and months and months looking like Worzel Gummidge

Nodancingshoes · 21/10/2018 10:24

I had my hair braided with beads in the mid ninetys - oh dear god, the photos still come back to haunt me

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 21/10/2018 10:26

Shell suits. I swore I'd wear them foreverHalloween BlushHalloween Grin

I can't believe I'm going to admit to this but leggins and block heals.

Just think in another say 30 years someone will probably start the same thread.

Late 90’s - cycling shorts, unitards and denim shirts.

Boob tube dresses, glitter on my face. Fishnet tops and wonderbra’s, Levi’s501’s dyed in bright red, bottle green...

SaucyJack · 21/10/2018 10:33

90s eyebrows. Enough said.

elQuintoConyo · 21/10/2018 10:48

I used to wear a black lace nightie with cherry red DMs and had waist-length blue hair. Around 1990-92.

Them niniskirts so short i had 4 cheeks to put blusher on Blush

At uni mid-90s i had green tartan trousers and a tshirt that read 'warning this bitch bites' - christ almighty!

Surf4life · 21/10/2018 10:55

I had these really god awful pink coloured skinny jeans that I wore as a teenager in the early 2010s. Also in the early 2010s when Glee was really popular, American American Football jackets...

Eurgh and these tiny headbands that were utterly pointless circa 2009

Oh and these disgusting black leather tight pants, which I cannot relate to any time period. But they were ugly as fuck.

LostInShoebiz · 21/10/2018 11:05

Horace I had the same outfit. And also a mother that allowed a lot of leeway for better or worse.

I also wore a Porn Star tshirt when I was about 14 Confused and (fashionable in Europe at the time) a Vive Marie best that was almost entirely see through, had a big picture of the Virgin Mary and bore the legend “Thanx God I’m A Virgin”.

I rebelled during university and almost exclusively bought my clothes from BHS for two years.

*vest not best. It was definitely not best in any way.
