DD bought a gift card in there recently and tried to redeem it online; the code is illegible so we took it back today and the unhelpful woman in there just said 'oh, we're only the third party, you need to do some detective work online and find out how to get it sorted out' and refused point blank to help' after checking with the manager.

I'm beyond furious, DD has apparently lost £25 and all WHS could suggest was online detective work and phoning the company using the address on the back - yes, we're going to phone the States and ask for help of course.

Argos did this to me, we had an Argos gift card, it wouldn’t scan. They told me it wasn’t an actual Argos gift card, despite Argos logo. We had the receipt, it was all sealed, but they said it was sold by Sainsburys, so wasn’t an actual Argos gift card. All this was said to my 6 year old spending her birthday money. They were so shit.

Did your daughter throw away the card packaging? All those gift cards are sold on a card backing with the branding all on it. Unless they've completely changed designs.

I barely leave my house, and though some people think I'm pathetic, a visit to WHS is one of the few things that will get me out, I enjoy a visit and a look round so much

Zukie - from what I have heard they are u=in a huge amoub=nt of trouble - but I am far from being an oracle.

However - I agree with Beezie - The Works has lots of bits 'n' bobs at good prices- worth a look.

in tesco u have to have a assistanmt put it through theyre system and loaded cant just be bleeped at a machine
