AIBU?

I bought a sex toy from Amazon and the delivery guy has popped a nice note through my door

I am actually a cross between terrified and totally grossed out.
(Also mortified!)

I ordered a rather nice sex toy from Amazon and it was delivered today. It's something I got for DH and myself. The delivery guy did give me a look as he handed over the box but whatever.

I just went into the hall to find a card from Amazon with a post-it note saying that if I want something more I can call him, his number, and a smiley face.

WTAF? He opened my parcel? He was sizing me up? Tell me IANBU, please, I am on my own and FREAKING OUT

Oh come on OP not many perks to working for Amazon... youre clearly the only one this week! Give the man a break and dont knock him for trying..(and take it as a compliment you obviously caught his eye)

More appropriately though complain bitterly. It's really not nice. I once had a pizza delivery guy call my mobile asking me out a couple of hours after delivering pizza. I just put the phone down but later wished I had complained

Post the note with his phone number, and all of Mumsnet can troll him for you, call him, send him dick pics, etc.

Devils Advocate - but package was closed so, delivery driver doesn't know what it was. When you took delivery you know what is in it so you subconsciously act slightly shy / excited / flustered. Delivery driver picks up on this emotion and egotistically thinks "maybe she took a shine to me" and assuming he found you attractive decided to leave his number. Absolutely chancing his arm and out of order but could explain it. I would report it to Amazon, it's inappropriate behaviour.

@werideatdawn I put a smiley there, the one with the big grin. It did not show and now I look like a fool

Aha. Ohdeardeardear. Well, that does make sense? I guess? But why do they need that information?

And fwiw Hmm I posted on here because MN has made me laugh for years and I prefer that to thinking there's some guy in a white van outside my house waiting for me to give him a call Shock

Hi all

We're just popping in to say that the OP has been around for some time and we don't have any concerns - however, we absolutely can't vouch for anyone either so do bear this in mind when posting. Flowers

The drivers can certainly know what was in boxes. I’ve received parcels I could open and close again looking like they hadn’t been touched. Was it an actually amazon delivery guy? They would be even more likely to know what was in the parcel.

Was the delivery guy your DH?
Is this whole thing part of the sex fantasy?
🧐

My worst one was I ordered for a rather unknown sexy underwear company. Turns out where my dh works has one of the contracts for said company. The staff member plopped my order on his desk. We where then seated at the same table for the works do Grin

Also which toy?
Do you have a coupon?
Can you use it solo?

Asking for a friend

I don’t get how he could know.

I had 3 packages delivered by Amazon today, all in unmarked, standard, brown boxes. Was the box dildo shaped or something?!

I can't vouch for it yet as dh is away Grin
We shall see

A lot of the delivery guys round here are clearly freelance, blokes with vans. So no he wasn't "official" but I am not sure what official looks like

Grim. Def complain to Amazon.

I had no idea they got a summery of what they were delivering, they must sometimes have a right chuckle when they go home and discuss their day with their loved ones.

My last deliveries were sea buckthorn powder, a bird feeder and a cat grooming glove Grin

Mama Grin

No it was a standard brown box, absolutely nothing amiss
That's why I ordered it from Amazon! Anonymity. Standard packaging. Mortified.

He was acting on Amazon's behalf and used their stationery to proposition you - I wouldn't have thought twice about reporting it (although to be fair, I do love a good complaint...).

How would be know what u look like before he handed the card over. Or does he do it to all people who buy dildos. I’ve got a friend you see she is a little desperate . Buy a dildo get the real thing BARGAIN 😂

You don't have to say what you bought to complain, however your previous orders are on your account so they can see if they wish.

You need to complain about this and the guy needs to be stopped. He is a predator.

IIRC there was a hoohaa about Amazon last Christmas as they sent out orders without boxes to save money be environmentally friendly and people got presents for their kids with no cardboard boxes. Things like Lego and the like.

dudsville · 19/10/2018 20:10

He may not have known what was in the box and was being grim of his own accord.

Well that escalated quickly!
