To wish ikea had “express” stores

That’s all really! And it would stock a good few of the most popular items and Children’s bits so mums haven’t got to traipse all the way to the big store.

And of course it’ll need to have a food court!

What stores do you wish had an express version?

I think Tiger is a bit like this, all the crap you buy in the market hall in a smaller shop, but as a PP said in our local one you can just do the market hall bit and the cafe

I wish IKEA did free home delivery

That's not their business model. Shifting heavy furniture by road is never going to be 'free' so you either go and collect it yourself, or pay delivery charges that reflect what sending it out with two people in a lorry actually costs.

A lot of people sell smaller items on eBay, which may suit you better than going to the store in person.

There's a 'local' Ikea in Tenerife. I think they have the marketplace stuff and a collection point for furniture, which you order and is presumably shipped from mainland Spain.

But in the UK, you just have to learn the layout and shortcuts of the store in question. In ours there is a shortcut quite near the entrance that goes straight through to the restaurant, then children's section then marketplace, then another shortcut to the start of the warehouse, which isn't very big as there is another warehouse round the back and then the tills. So no need to see any of the room displays unless you want to.

Aldi annoys me because I'll go in for milk, bread and mince and be stuck behind someone with two trolleys of shopping...

Blushi usually go in for milk and loo roll and end up being that person with a £40 shop on the belt

The Norwich one is pointless, they don't have very much stock... So if you want pretty much anything you have to order it in and they charge you to have it delivered to the store for you to collect! I wanted a couple of storage boxes...the delivery cost was about 3x the price of the boxes.

I live in Norwich and I still drive to Lakeside whenever I need am Ikea trip.

It's the done thing in aldi that if you're the one with a big shop and the person behind has only a few items that you let them go in front of you.

If you're the one behind with a couple of things you could always ask to go in front if they don't offer.

Well I've read about it in their catalogue, on their website and on posters in and around the store. It's not a secret.

They have a 'sort of store' in Dublin. You can order from it. Get advice and they have a few bits and pieces to buy, plus a little cafe.
Personally I think it's cr*p.
But you could get your hangers there. Probably.
