Evening all, I am an eyfs teacher and we seriously need to revamp our outdoor area. Specifically needing storage/sheds that can be created into different learning areas. However, unfortunately our school budget has been cut by 50k this year so zero budget Hmm. I have some ideas but wondered if anyone knew of any businesses that may donate or grant us some funds?!
I know there will be lots of knowledgeable people on here!

I'm the fundraising link governor and have applied for loads purely thru the power of google. Particularly if you look at community grants and apply via your PTA

Have you looked on your local Freecycle site, or gum tree. Have the parents been asked to come up with fundraising ideas or to donate any unwanted items, perhaps you contact the local paper who could write a piece and ask for donations.

CHeck out local businesses that use pallets/other timber, you may find they are happy to donate.

Our PTA isnt particularly active Blush. Am thinking of doing some fundraising myself but am looking at about £600 for what we need. I think I may look over half term and apply for whatever I can! Was just wondering if any big businesses give as I know some do community schemes but not sure which x

Can you ask parents if their employers offer any grants of this type? My employer does this

Local councillors will have grant budgets, ours regularly donate for projects at school.
Most supermarkets have a 'community champion' who will donate money, or goods (eg prizes for a raffle). If you have connections to the supermarket, like a parent who works there, most are more generous.
Somewhere like b&q might be willing to donate ex-display, slightly cosmetically damaged goods or returns.
Basically ask everywhere you can think of and you'll probably get something!

Good idea we are in a deprived area but some parents may have links. I could always send a letter and hope!

In the longer term you could look at the Tesco scheme - I think it's called Bags of Help. There will be a unit in your local stores where people post tokens to vote for one of three community schemes. At the end of a fixed period of time (a month or so) the project with the most tokens gets £5k, the second gets £3k and the third gets £1k (I think these are the amounts).

I think there is info online about what to do. Once the store has your application it will be considered and then if it meets their criteria it will make it to the voting system.

Sorry it's a bit vague. I did look into it briefly for a group I used to be involved with but the committee decided to hold different fundraising events instead.

Bags of Help. It's run in conjunction with Groundwork.

If labour costs are part of the total, see if you have one of these near you, as a way of getting it done by volunteers

@Itchyknees I'm tied into some long term bids and projects so kind of impossibly to give a real indication: the actual amount is (hopefully) wayyyy lower than the eventual amount will be! But that's not me copping out in case it doesn't happen as it prob will but nobody just gives you money/ grants overnight so... Not trying to be evasive by the way! Just can't give an actual figure yet

Local logistics/haulage companies will have pallets you can have possibly?

Get Tesco’s to let you do the plastic token donation?
