I have been buying bits from Uniqlo maybe H&M.
I need a couple of nice new bits such as cigar trousers /pencil skirts/ dresses blouses and shirts. I don't mind spending a bit more on nicer things.

Second hand Next Tall and Boden Tall. I wear dresses.

MidiMitch · 19/10/2018 06:04

Debenhams

Sashkin · 19/10/2018 06:14

Uniqlo, H&M for top half. Hobbs/Whistles for bottom half. I tend to wear shirt/trousers with a vest/T-shirt and cardi/jumper most days. Try Banana Republic if you have any North American holidays planned.

Soontobe60 · 19/10/2018 06:15

Work trousers from M&S, great quality and price. V neck sweaters or cardigans also M&S for winter, with good quality T shirts in summer.

Actually, my most comfortable ankle grazer pants come from Matalan! I bought 3 pairs they were so nice. Cost about £11.
Tunic dresses from Sainsbury's over thick tights with flats or boots for winter too. Over leggings for spring.

SleepPerChanceToDream · 19/10/2018 06:30

Dorothy Perkins, Wallis, Next and Warehouse are all great. Have also got some lovely shirts from New Look and H&M.

MakeAHouseAHome · 19/10/2018 06:37

Debenhams all the way. The permemany sale mean you can pick up really nice stuff for peanuts. Bought a Phase Eight Dress for £22 that should have been £89.

ChikiTIKI · 19/10/2018 06:42

Sainsbury's!

nicebitofquiche · 19/10/2018 06:49

SerenDippitty · 19/10/2018 07:04

Wallis, Joe Brown’s, M&S, Peacocks (got a really nice short sleeved black and white check shift dress there couple of years back which I’ve worn and worn), Next.

ZenNudist · 19/10/2018 07:08

Hobbs mainly, cashmere cardis from m&s and pure collection, dresses from pure collection, just got a new navy flared skirt dress from joules and a day to evening do black dress from phase 8.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 19/10/2018 07:24

All my suits are from Hobbs and the bonus is that they are machine washable - 30 degrees, hang them up and they are ready to wear the next day (may not all be - I always check the labels).

magpie24 · 19/10/2018 07:37

All my suits are from Hobbs' sales. Some of them I've had for almost five years and they still look new.

AdoreTheBeach · 19/10/2018 07:38

Hobbs and Phase Eight.

CherryPavlova · 19/10/2018 08:16

If you’re shopping at H&M, I think I’m too old for comparison but Hobbs, John Lewis, Lands End, Boden occasionally, Jigsaw occasionally, LK Bennet very occasionally.

hellsbellsmelons · 19/10/2018 08:41

@POPholditdown
Delivery is always really good.
But.... you do have to pay for returns. So that's not good.
But.... I very rarely return anything so it works for me.

thedevilinablackdress · 19/10/2018 08:48

If you like Uniqlo any H&M, then COS is definitely a logical next step.

ChablisLover · 19/10/2018 08:58

Following with interest -
I always find this hard

POPholditdown · 19/10/2018 09:00

Thanks hellsbellsmelons

I never bother to return online orders, so don’t mind that bit

TriciaMcMillan · 19/10/2018 09:01

I still buy most of my work wear from Banana Republic online, even though they no longer have bricks and mortar stores in the UK. Obviously not so good if you want to try on first, but if you know your size in Gap, it's pretty similar (same company). The suits and separates are all cut well and give a sharp, modern tailored look. I like their sloan skinny fit ankle pants and have them in about 6 colours!

POPholditdown · 19/10/2018 09:01

BTW for those who have mentioned H&M, they’ve got a decent sale online upto 60% off

Shenanagins · 19/10/2018 09:03

Mango
Benetton
Warehouse
M&S

wink1970 · 19/10/2018 09:14

We're 'smart casual' so tweed jackets from Boden or Joules, white T from John Lewis, and Jeans from Levi. Every day, 5 different jackets in rotation, different scarf combinations to alleviate the boredom I actually like having this uniform
