Bright flash... wtf.

Our toddler just woke up, trying to get them back to sleep - suddenly a massive flash of light, less than a millisecond, definitely in the room, not from behind the blind/from outside. Both DH and I saw, nothing seems to have tripped in the room, all sockets working.
I refuse to go back to sleep, DH is being very blasé, and telling me to "get over it," I'm genuinely concerned about a fire risk.
AIBU to not rest until we've worked this out? Any ideas what it was?

Do all of this, get an exorcist if you must, but get rid of that extension lead and dont leave any chargers plugged in.

We have a Carbon dioxide monitor that flashes every hour, only notice the flash when it is very dark in the room.

Charged subatomic particles travelling through your house at the time.

Could be a random flash of lightening.

Thanks for all the replies! We unplugged everything last night and didn't have any other illuminating experiences!

The room was slightly lit already, from a very dim LED nightlight that glows orangey (easier to deal with toddler with a bit of light)

We have a basic, sound only, plug in baby monitor which was turned off at the time.

We do not live on a main road, our bedroom is at the back of the house overlooking the garden, there's a small, country lane past our fence, but there's about a 4 foot height difference.

It was just so odd, DC woke up in such a panic and was screaming crying, we sat up trying to comfort, then this massive flash. DH said he hadn't touched his phone at that point (both on floor charging) but maybe it glitched?

3am only finding a lot of 'woo' on google - didn't help that DH decided to remind me the previous owner died here. Confused

Also no fleece pyjamas! Toddler in a cotton romper.

LED lightbulbs?

If so then sometimes you can get a short flash just from a "build up" of electricity when the wiring acts like a capacitor. With filament bulbs this would just dissipate but can build up to a flash with LED bulbs.

hhmm, My mobile puts out a breif 'flash' like you describe when the Battery tells me it's fully charged.
