When bad makeup happens to good people

Would you want to be told if you’re makeup looked awful??
Saw one of the teaching assistants this morning on the school run, walking along with a friend/colleague. She’s quite young(26 perhaps) and her foundation looked shocking. Wrong colour and no blending whatsoever. Just a tide-mark of orange about 2cm from the edge of her face. If I was said friend/colleague, maybe I’d have kindly said something along the lines of ‘Oo, do this(and gestured on my own face a ‘blending’ motion)’.
Would that BU?
Would you want to be told?

I would never comment on anyone's make up unless it was positive like that's a lovely lipstick or something like that. You don't know, that person might think she looks lovely and who am I to judge?

I might tell a close friend if she'd put a spot of mascara where it shouldn't be, something like that, but wouldn't say anything to anyone otherwise.

I remember being stared at by two women on a bus going home from town on a sunny afternoon about 10 years ago. I'd had a makeover in Boots and it felt really sticky and uncomfortable but I hadn't looked at my face in a mirror since I left the store. I noticed their looks and gave them a smile I hope said I hope it doesn't look that bad, but when I got out the mirror..... OMG! It was actually melting off my face, all thick and streaky and really weird. I used up the couple of tissues I had on me wiping it off, and they gave me some more, bless them. We had a good laugh about it. Benefit makeup obviously doesn't suit me.

It would be truly horrible and spiteful to say something.also just because you think she looks bad doesn't mean other people do - she obviously doesn't.

This thread made me think of these YouTube compilations which I am obsessed with:

I admire the skill involved but some of them look bizarre! I’m very each to their own when it comes to make up tho, I’m not that great at it I know but I love trowelling it on! I sometimes do it when I’m not even going anywhere, just for fun.

I feel very sorry for anyone who spends time and money on makeup when quite often they look much worse. I wish people had the confidence to stick two fingers up to the expectations of you tubers and magazines.

@ILovePierceBrosnan I wear makeup because I want to, I love the glamour aspect of it taken time to take myself from normal to feeling glamorous.
I also prefer my face with makeup I always have so don't feel sorry for me or anyone else some people actually enjoy and love makeup there is no pity needed

@soupforbrains setting your brows is when you've put a product in and then set it with a gel incase the product smudges. You don't really need to set them as most don't smudge anymore, where products have been made better but I remember at school mine smudging up my forehead and no one told me
