To wonder if NHS dentalcare even exists at this point

I may or may not be crying in frustration on my couch as I write this. My son has just turned one, we called around the closest 3 dental surgeries to us when he got his first tooth but none were taking nhs patients so we decided to wait a few months. The other day he fell and has knocked one of his teeth loose, he cried for about 5 seconds but I of course feel major mum guilt and wanted to get him to a dentist asap. In the last hour I've called 9 dental surgeries and been told by all that they either aren't taking NHS patients right now or the waiting list is 9 plus months. I don't understand what I'm supposed to do at this point? I can't afford to get his seen to privately but the tooth isn't even fully grown yet so I don't want to leave it, I'm so shocked that its this hard just to get registered and for some reason its making me feel like the worst mother ever. Aibu to feel like I've run out of options here?

I pay £14 a month for a dental plan so that my kids can get NHS dental care on the back of me. It was the only way I could access it.

Contact the Nhs customer contact center on 0300 311 2233. They could help in finding one for you.

I had similar with DC2. The rest of us were all registered with an NHS dentist but they would only accept new patients once a year. If I were you I would at least get on the waiting list of any that offer one. In the meantime, can you afford to pay for a one-off private appointment to check his teeth this time? There are often reduced charges for children.
