To put nappy cream on her face?

My DD (5 months) requires oxygen but the plasters have gave her a rash on her face. She's been prescribed some cream but the pharmacy don't have it in until tomorrow.

Can I put nappy cream on it? Will it help?

Is she allergic to the plasters? can they supply hypoallergenic ones?
You could give it a go - sudacrem is amazing. If it goes on her bum ok, should be ok.

I agree. Sudocreme is great for almost all rashes, I’d use it sparingly though.

Poor little poppet. I hope it clears up quickly.

Sudocrem/bepanthen can go all over the skin, don't worry about that.

I presume your DD will have a community nurse as she's on oxygen? Can you ask them to supply a different type due to the rash? You could also ring your GP to ask them to provide a couple of different types of plasters until your next appointment.

Yes sudocrem for sure, it will stop the plasters from sticking though - have you got another way of securing the tubes - or maybe a mask to use temporarily?

Have you been given duoderm for going under the plasters?

northlaine · 15/10/2018 16:22

I've put sudocreme practically everywhere on my kids!

poor baby Flowers
i can sympathise though DS has needed oxygen and feeding tube stuck to his face since he was 7 weeks old the rashes are terrible.

Have u tried cavilon before using the duoderm plaster its really good as a barrier between skin and tube?

when ds comes out with the spots i put a ver thin layer of sudocrem which usually clears it up nicely
thinking of u
