Is there a 'best time? Really want to take the kids back to Florida. Dd is in Yr 10 now so can't take her out of school until after exams. Then it would be busiest times in theme parks which when spending thousands I want to avoid. Was thinking of adding a week or 2 onto a half term. So either Oct, Feb or May. But as she's the eldest have no idea how disruptive it would be or what she will even be doing. I'm presuming she would take any work with her and have to make up placement time if applicable?

We've been several times at Easter and the crowds are fine. Yes it's busy, but not to the extent of being any problem, just plan your use of fast passes. At Universal you can pay a supplement to do their version of fast passes, but for all rides.

End of Aug is less busy than beginning by a long way. We also found it better weather wise as it was starting to cool a little.

Check term dates as soon as you can as often college terms start later so come back as close to start date as you can. Also booking way in advance keeps flight costs down.

I have a DD same age and we're planning to go again in aug 2021, between Y12 and 13.
My youngest will be between Y9 and Y10

We went late aug 2016 and found it to be ok crowd wise, was hot but we coped. At the end of the day they have 9 months of ridonckulous heat so unless you consider Nov/Dec/Jan it's going to be hot.

I am unable to take TT holiday for myself but even if I could there is no way I'd pull mine out of school at that age for a Florida holiday.

Couldn't you just go to Disneyland for a week instead? I know it's not the same but you could upgrade to a better hotel, she won't have to miss college so won't be stressed about catching up. If you are dressed for chilly weather Feb half term is brilliant the park is quiet and you can just walk on and off most rides. Then depending on the ages of your other children go on a big Florida holiday after she completes College A levels between Uni/work.
