I have been looking to get a job in the industry I have a diploma in for the past few months. In August I applied for a job and they got back to me within a week asking when I could come in for an interview in the next two weeks. I got back to them the next day and she the person who has been emailing me went back on her word as said they are very busy right now, and have enough help as well. She suggested that I come in mid October for a chat. I said absolutely let me know what days work got you. I haven't heard back from them since... it's mid October and I am still looking for the jobs. After they last emailed me they took off the job of their website. Wwyd? Contact them? Or ?

I think that you could do no harm by contacting them, but that they will probably politely say they don't need anyone. Sorry.

ReggaeTramp · 14/10/2018 15:31

I don’t think you have anything to lose. It sounds as though there may not be a vacancy at the moment but given that they said mid October it certainly wouldn’t hurt to send a polite email to ask.

leghairdontcare · 14/10/2018 15:31

yes definitely - just ask if they have anything they think might be good for you at this point in time. Send another copy of you cv.

Deliqueen · 14/10/2018 15:33

You have nothing to lose by contacting them. It was them that said get back to them in mid October so they could still have opportunities and it shows you're keen. The worse that can happen is they say there's no longer a suitable job for you.

Jojobos · 14/10/2018 15:33

It's an entry level job and they had someone (uni student) till end of September and they had a pig project happening this weekend hence of suggesting they are busy with that.

Sorry for the drop feed... not sure if it makes a difference tho

Definitely. What is there to lose?

Jojobos · 14/10/2018 15:44

Exactly. What's there to loose ... I just need to put my big girl pants on.

Worth a try, worst they come back with is that they haven’t got any vacancies.

dontfluffthefluffer · 14/10/2018 17:02

Definitely drop them an email or call, just to keep you current and in their minds. Ask to go in for a chat if they have time.

You have nothing to lose by keeping contact open, good luck!

MereDintofPandiculation · 14/10/2018 17:14

All you're telling them by contacting them is that you're really keen to work for them. What's not to like? from their point of view.

OrdinarySnowflake · 14/10/2018 18:12

Another saying you've nothing to lose, everything to gain!

IABURQO · 14/10/2018 19:39

Worth a try!

Jojobos · 14/10/2018 20:17

Sorry for the typos etc in my previous comments. I am going to email them she mentioned that they would want to see my portfolio as well so I really don't see why I should not. I just got a bit sad in August when they asked me to come in than said actually come in for a chat on 1 1/2 months time
