AIBU to feel a bit suspicious?

My husband works in a IT department and their working hours on their website say 9am-6pm Monday to Friday. However he has said he will be working extra at the weekends doing overtime. I am really suspicious and feel a bit worried whether he really is at work or not... I feel like driving there to see if his car is parked! Is it weird that their office hours say 9-6 during the week only, closed weekends yet he is working weekends when it's closed? Hmm

I'm always getting notes about server maintenance on weekends: investment bank, lots of middle managers expected to put in half day at weekends too, so it's to let them know when they can/can't.

I'd bear all that in mind, but I'd still do a drive by!

IT worked 7days a week at our mon/fri offices and always someone on 24hr callout rota. They have to for server issues, emergency back-up works, scheduled maintenance and updates they can't do during operating hours etc. Totally normal OP.

Most out of hours IT work is from home these days unless he's doing hardware work. A lot of companies force staff to do work out of working hours to avoid disrupting staff or customers.
If you're worried then you should check their carpark - though does he work on client sites too or just for that company?

Agree with PPs - I work in a hospital and all our major system upgrades are done at weekends and in the early hours of the morning to minimise the disruption. The “opening hours” are when they’re available to deal with routine queries and non-urgent stuff.
