ITV’s Commentator, regarding Beatrice giving a good reading considering she’s a ‘dyslexic’. I felt uncomfortable with that ‘label’. Surely it should have been ‘considering she has dyslexia’ or something along those lines. AIBU or not?

My daughter is epileptic. That is just a statement . It is not a value judgement of her as a person.

I thought this was going to be about the BBC messing up their subtitles and saying that Eugenie's breasts fitted very well, as opposed to her dress!
I can't link on the phone, but if you Google, it should come up.

I think a lot of people are missing the OP's point.

It's not saying someone is dyslexic or epileptic.
It's saying she's an epileptic or she's a dyslexic. To me it sounds almost like calling someone a name or a bit nasty but I can't say why.
Maybe it's because it's calling someone by their condition?
I imagine a person whispering behind their hand saying "ooh look there's that Bea she's a dyslexic you know" it's just doesn't sit right with me.

Tbh my Dd wouldn't be able to do a reading without stumblin over the words. I think she would have to learn it by heart.
