Hi MN. I need your help.

Went for a very precautionary scan at 36+4. I've been admitted and wasn't expecting to be. It's a shock. They are talking about induction but said I might not be ready at 36+4. Desperate for an induction and not a c section. I know nothing about these and haven't had a birth class yet.

Had a cry about not having my water birth. Slowly letting go of the idea.

Hospital bag isn't here/ready. Mum and Dad are away.

Anyone have a successful induction at 36 weeks? Can I refuse a c section if baby looks okay?

I've been admitted due to blood flow being poor from the placenta.

Feeling a bit scared and lost and totally unprepared. I'm not ready for baby yet.

I was rushed in at 37 weeks with ore eclampsia and induced. Took three days. Unfortunately baby was in awkward position and got stuck at the last fence. Had to have emergency c section. So labour and emergency operation. All was fine. Wasn't what I planned but hey ho he's a healthy 12 year old now and im here to bring him up

Good luck OP and take it as it comes.

I was 35+4 when I was induced and the hospital didn’t even entertain the idea of a CS! I was quite scared it would fail as baby showed no signs of wanting to come out. It was a successful induction with no further interventions needed. It is a bit odd that they haven’t attempted an induction but might just be there policy?

Maternity wards can be quite busy but surely they should have given you some kind of plan by now. Either way I’m glad that your being monitored and sounds like baby is doing ok which is the important thing. Hope it all goes well.

Hope the consultant was able to re-assure you. I ended up with 2 sections and two very healthy babies. Good luck.
