To wonder where you live if you have crap credit?

It’s proving quite difficult.

Private renting seems to all be done via an agent and my credit isn’t good enough, but then where are you supposed to live? Anyone know?

Look on gumtree , that’s where we advertise for tenants . The lack of guarantor would be a bigger issue for us than credit score . Where do you live now ?

Not everyone is in a position to do this, but we offered to pay the first 6 months up front. The letting agent took the offer to the landlord who said yes. After a year of good payment we switched to monthly.

I recommend AirBNB. Try a few places full price. Once you've tried and tested each other you should be able to get quite a discount, failing that maybe a caravan and save up (I've got grand designs on the brain because of another thread and that's what people on that programme often do).
