AIBU?
That all anti frizzy products are bull..
Hidinginthelootoo · 10/10/2018 14:27
I am sick of my thick frizzy wavy mop of hair! I have tried so many of these banish the frizzy, curl smoother shit creams, oils and serums...do any actually work?
CaptainCabinets · 10/10/2018 14:30
The Bleach London Hair Elixir has worked absolute miracles with my mop!
krustykittens · 10/10/2018 14:32
I second the Moroccan oil, it was the only thing that worked on my hair.
Mabelface · 10/10/2018 14:34
Cut out anything with silicon in as it makes the frizz worse. I have long, thick curly hair and i wash with Superdrug' s sweet almond and coconut conditioner, condition with tresemme silicon free conditioner, comb whilst wet then bung soon boots curl creme through it. I also put it up in a loose scrunchie on top of my head overnight, then in the morning just let it down and run a bit of the curl creme through it. Job done, and my curls are really well defined.
JennyOnAPlate · 10/10/2018 14:38
Google the curly girl method and do that. It's worked wonders for my hair. You stop using shampoo and was with silicone free conditioner instead. There's loads of info online about it and a Facebook page.
rachelinindia · 10/10/2018 14:38
Use an SLS free shampoo and silicone free conditioner and serum/oil- L'oreal Hair Expertise Riche are not expensive and you can get them online
Use a wide tooth comb
Sleep on a silk pillowcase
Try not to touch your hair!
rachelinindia · 10/10/2018 14:43
Moroccan oil smells delish but it's just silicones which sit on your hair and weigh it down, doesn't moisturise. Argan oil is the only fifth ingredient in Moroccan Oil hair treatment. Better to buy a cheap 'pure' oil instead (though pure argan oil smells a bit farm like...)

Curly girl all the way!
There’s a great Facebook group for it. I have THICK curly hair and it is so much more manageable now.
Hidinginthelootoo · 10/10/2018 20:42
Thanks for your messages...have looked at the curly girl and looks good, however...if you want to straighten your hair, can you? Or do you have to 'start again.. definitely going to cut out sulfates and silicones now though x

I myself have wavy curly (type 2c, but sometimes looks like 3a) hair- both thick and fine and tangles very easily. I never found John Frieda Frizz-Ease make much difference to me. I found success with Naked Bounce conditioner but the price got too high for me, so I now use macadamia oil conditioner from the pound shop. I love it. I also keep my hair to shoulder length and hardly ever blow dry it.
StoneofDestiny · 10/10/2018 20:54
Get Kerastraight Treatment at hairdresser. Ends frizz.
Anybody know inexpensive high street sulphate/sodium free shampoo and conditioner?
Maelstrop · 10/10/2018 21:00
Mines mad curly. I just wet it every morning and slap on loads of conditioner, the thicker the better. Keeps perfect curls all day but only if there’s been a week of build up.
Agentornika · 10/10/2018 21:05
Tried everything and felt the same as you. I now dry my hair straight without any products and after straightening, I get a large blob of conditioner and massage through the midlengths and ends, and then wide comb is thru. Once I've finished putting slap on and getting dressed, I brush my hair and voila, no more frizz all day
wherearetheguineapigs · 10/10/2018 21:15
I never brush mine either- wide toothed comb when wet.
specialsubject · 10/10/2018 21:16
wElla straight or loreal xtenso. Lasts a year if done competently. None of the shelf products work , all lies. You can have good looking Curls if you don't mind 30 mins or more of boring work a day. No thanks.
Curls are ugly ageing frizz on me. Can now use a comb and have dropped years. And takes seconds to get tidy, I even wake up tidy.
AnneWiddecombesHandbag · 10/10/2018 21:23
Nothing worked for me so I splashed out for a Kerastraight treatment. This sounds totally shallow but it's life changing!
longwayoff · 10/10/2018 22:13
What happened to Elvive serum? It was great. Cant find anything to equal it.
PinkCalluna · 11/10/2018 07:52
Frizz is just curls waiting to be unleashed!
Sadly not. I have frizz without the curls.
Lonecatwithkitten · 11/10/2018 08:55
Kerastraight treatment for me too, changed my life. My hair is so frizzy it still curls after the kerastraight, but not as madly.
StoneofDestiny · 11/10/2018 09:33
Anybody know inexpensive high street sulphate/sodium free shampoo and conditioner?
Sorry meant to ask if anybody knows of an inexpensive sulphate/sodium free shampoo/conditioner that can be bought on the high street?
bookworm14 · 11/10/2018 12:31
My hair is like this - I do sympathise. Cantu Curl Activator cream is pretty good, and I'd second the advice to limit use of sulfates and silicones if you can. The full curly girl method didn't really work for me, but it might for you.
