He doesn't like after eights! (lighthearted)

Just that simply. My partner thinks after eights are weird. He also doesn't like fish, any kind of fish. I think this isn't meant to be.

I’ll have himif you don’t want him. After eights are really nasty. A horrid over sweet envelope of cooking chocolate filled with toothpaste.

But which is worse? After eights or Ferraro Balls of cat litter in equally cheap chocolate.

A few years ago there used to be liquid mint Ferraro Rocher, I must try after eight in the freezer ,it might just slow down the amount i eat

My dh hates cheese and chocolate aka my whole diet. Works perfect as he doesn't eat my treats 🐷

My husband detests After Eights too. Or in fact any mint chocolate. Somehow I was already married to him before I discovered.

It seemed overly dramatic to divorce him because of it but I must admit I did think 'what sort of person am I sharing my life with?'.

Turned out to a bonus because it means I get all the After Eights to myself.

Better that than my DH who eats MY After Eights but leaves papers in the box so I think I have some left but I don't

Luckily he likes all the Roses I don't and vice versa so at least we have that.

After Eights ARE weird. They used to be nice, they changed and really are not nice any more, the filling is far too sweet and gloopy, it never used to taste like toothpaste.

I think Afters8s have changed,,they taste different,,We had some at Christmas, 2 boxes in fact and they had a weird taste .

I agree with some others that After Eights and Ferrero Rocher are not worth eating. Same goes for white chocolate.

My favourite chocolate mints used to be Mingles, but Bendicks and Elizabeth Shaw are both good.

I also don't ever eat fish so that's ok by me. However, After Eights are the food of the Gods so yes you have a big problem.

Mint chocolate is gross.

As is orange chocolate.

Love After Eights.

Unfortunately ds3 (11), who eats everything apart from mushrooms, doesn't like them! When I found that out I did wonder if he really was my son, but looking back 11 years and remembering the contractions and birth confirms he is. Hmmmm, maybe I was implanted by an alien, that could explain it.

LTB OP, then I can have him He sounds perfect for me. Can't bear after eights, and to me, fish always smells and tastes "too fishy". Of course it goes without saying that pineapple doesn't belong on a pizza.

Before I snap him up though, I need to know, what is his opinion on a Terry's chocolate orange? To me, chocolate and orange just don't belong together. If he agrees, then this is the start of something beautiful. If he doesn't, well, you can have him.

Yes, he's a wierdo on both counts.

Although, I wonder if he'd like the 'real' After Eights, of 40 years ago...
those were divine! Even as a teen I really appreciated them. Still even 30 years ago they were way, way, way better (and larger) that today's.
(Kinda like Cadbury has changed.)

I rarely buy After Eights anymore, as it is pretty much a let down now, knowing how good they used to be.

btw -the freezer suggestion is 👍 (thumbs up, in case that didn't show up on some devices.)

Thankfully fish has not changed much. 🐟🐟🐟

Orange chocolate is actually the worst, because if there’s any lurking in close proximity to lovely plain milk chocolate, then it fucking taints it with its fake chemically smell.
