I’m just wondering about the bit at the end where he says they continue to work with families. AIBU to think this can’t be true? There are too many of them!

Not personally no. Years ago there was twin sisters (porn stars and prostitution). I seen them out in Dublin one night. They were on it twice and admitted on the 2nd show they got lots of extra clients from their first appearance. Grin

My housemate at uni went on it for a dare. We drunkenly applied for her to go on for a completely made up problem. We couldn’t convince anyone to pretend to be the boyfriend who she’d cheated on in a very silly and outing way. So in the end she ended up going on with her brother who was supposed to be her boyfriend. Her mum heard about it and gave them both a real bollocking.

The teeth. Lack of dentistry and drug use. Speed and coke will see off 32 teeth in no time at all.

DanSullivan · 09/10/2018 19:25

I was in the audience in 2004.

OnBail · 09/10/2018 19:25

Yes, I know some one who went on it, for a DNA test. No aftercare.

Searchingforaschool · 09/10/2018 19:28

I know someone who received 6 months funded rehab following going on it for drug abuse

LilMy33 · 09/10/2018 19:36

I know a few people from my home town who’ve been on JK! One of the girls in question swore blind that they only went on there for the money (couple of hundred each I think and a night in a mediocre hotel in Manchester).

Judging by how JK speaks to his guests I imagine the after care is woeful. Never a fan of the show but I distinctly remember watching an episode on a break at work because everyone else was and he was shouting at a woman who’d left her partner several times and moved to refuge each time. You don’t get a place in a woman’s refuge for nothing. I think she’d been accused of cheating on her partner. And JK just helped his case by sticking the boot in by shouting (in her face) “why do you keep going back to him if he’s so bad?!” Fuck sake.

I was in the audience a few months back & was very dissapointed. There were no arguing, no fights, they kept stopping filming to move audience members about, a woman kept telling us all when to clap and cheer, I didn't want to bloody clap or cheer at certain points but knew it was my only way of getting on TV.

Jezza (the arrogant twotface) just wanted to get to the pub as it was Friday t/time. So it finished after about 1/2 hour. They invited me again a few weeks back. I declined.

I got the feeling Jezza and Graham didn't really get on or were having a secret love affair, one or the other.

BeyondAdultHumanFemale · 09/10/2018 19:42

I have a friend who went on there back when it was new. DNA result one.
I have been trying - in vain - to get hold of the clip

Greggers2017 · 09/10/2018 19:43

I have! A girl I went to school with went on for a DNA test and was between 3 fathers! Turned out it wasn't any of them. 😳😳😳😳

C0untDucku1a · 09/10/2018 19:44

Ive also been in the audience. And ive literally just come up to get audience tickets again for half-term!

ItsClemFandangoCanYouHearMe · 09/10/2018 19:46

Not the same but I know someone who went on Trisha with her husband and both claimed to be sleeping with the same woman!

My friends ex was on JK but no idea what it was about.

IamPickleRick · 09/10/2018 19:52

No but I did write in to Jezza's Virgin Confessions on the radio with an entirely made up and completely outrageous story, written by me and my teenage friends. He read it out while laughing but did give some sound advice to or made up characters Grin

Zoflorabore · 09/10/2018 19:55

I can't believe that anyone actually watches that shite Shock

Novasglow · 09/10/2018 19:56

I don't know anyone who has been on it, but my mum works in the same office as Arun Ghosh (the doctor) and his wife. She had to deal with a guest last week who arrived to see Dr Ghosh rather worse for wear...

ColinsVeryJolly · 09/10/2018 19:57

A customer at work tried to use the fact he’d been in JK as a chat up line! I think he thought it gave him a bit of a show biz air 😂

loopylass13 · 09/10/2018 20:06

I know 4 people who have been on it separately - mainly "who's the dad?" type theme. No idea about the after show help but learnt more about their sex lives than I needed to.

Harleypuppy · 09/10/2018 20:14

I secretly hope a lot of guests are actors.

AamdC · 09/10/2018 20:16

There was a girl in my towm who was on it very sad story ahe was a heroin addict and a prostitute who they sent to rehab she sadly passed away shortly aftet what the show said happened regardng the circumstances of her death wasent what was reported in the local newspaperSad

dawnmist · 09/10/2018 20:20

I remember watching that Graham getting interviewed once, he got in a right strop when asked what his qualifications were. The interviewer had probably noticed how amateur he is, his advice is always of the glaringly obvious.

luckycat007 · 09/10/2018 20:22

Do the participants receive money to appear, or is it just travel and accommodation? If money is in it I could understand why people might go on. I wouldn't though, farrrr to private!!!

Giggorata · 09/10/2018 20:45

One of our care leavers went on it, after being suckered in with some cash and a night in a city hotel, despite us trying to talk him out of it. He was made to look a fool and now wishes he hadn't.

YeTalkShiteHen · 09/10/2018 21:22

Giggorata it’s the vulnerability of some of the folk on it I worry about. I don’t watch it, but I read the news.

Redshoeblueshoe · 09/10/2018 21:31

Tomatoesrock I saw the twins too. They were in Manchester, clearly working Blush

AimingToMisbehave · 09/10/2018 21:34

Family member is a social worker in a deprived town. He's had lots of service users on there. He said they go for the cash and the night in the hotel, they're not really after help, they see it as a weekend away.
