to think that the worst part of a cold is the gravelly throat?

I’ve just started with what I can already tell is going to be a really horrible cold. I’m feeling extra sorry for myself because it’s staryed with a gravelly throat (as always for me - don’t know if that’s typical for everyone else) and I HATE the 2 gravelly throat days sooooo much! You can’t take anything to relieve the symptom and it makes me feel sick and retchy every time I swallow. I find it more debilitating than the full blown snots and cough that follows. WAH.

The post nasal drip cough for me, DD was sleeping through and I had to decamp to the spare room so she and DH could get some sleep while I was up till 4am hacking away then doing babycare all the next day while feeling like poo (and no decongestant either as breastfeeding). But the cough...I was really really really pissed off.

Not for me. It's the sinus pain.

For me it's having all that phlegm sitting on it chest and then trying to hack it up in the morning 🤢
