I have been invited to my DPs cousins wedding.
We are from very different backgrounds, he was privileged and had a great upbringing, anyway, the wedding is very formal and is considered normal for his family! I however have never attended a wedding with a 'Morning Dress' dress code. I've been asking my OH to help me look at what to wear, I've never met this side of his family so i'd like to blend in & not draw attention to myself. However he keeps saying just wear whatever, I've never looked at what girls wear etc etc and is leaving me struggling,

I feel like making an excuse and not attending with fear of sticking out like a sore thumb, Would IBU to pull out?

LK Bennett is a good bet.
Go to John Lewis personal shopper.

Coast, chichi, and phase eight all good safe bets!

Dress and jacket is good. It used to be "not done" to have bare arms, so a jacket or pashmina is a good idea. Bare legs also used to be frowned upon, that may no longer be the case.

Definitely not anything white, cream, ivory or black, or showing loads of cleavage, or very short - I'd say on the knee at least.

If it's a country wedding, bear in mind that you may be spending a lot of time on soft ground - stilettos may not be a good idea.

Post on S&B, there are some great experts.
IME smart weddings mean a simple well fitting dress and a great bag.
No flesh on show. Hat optional.

And Hobbs

Debenhams or John Lewis personal shopper. I do both, several times and they are happy to work with any budget you set.

Tell them in advance what it is for.

Was going to post exactly that - have a look at Reiss!

Thank you all! Very helpful and some great ideas! We don't have a John Lewis, but will find one nearby and book in!

Will remember to channel my inner Kate Middleton! GrinGrin

@MortyVicar
Great minds eh? Cuz I was going to add the name of an excellent Middletony dress brand but couldn't remember - Reiss is it.
