Are you some kind of fertile superhero, or do you mean your 24yr old DD?

People seem to use this incorrectly constantly and it gets really confusing! It really winds me up and makes threads so confusing!

The ridiculous abbreviations put me off posting for a long time. Then I found a list of them which helped slightly, but I still don't really understand the point. Does DS really take so much less time to type than son? And when people get into stupid unknown ones or use common ones 'incorrectly' - like DD for dog or DP for parents, I just get annoyed and read a different thread.
