When you sell something 100% genuine in good faith for a great discount, message buyer immediately to thank them for their payment and telling them you'll post it asap, post the item the next morning, provide tracking info and check until item arrives 2 days later.

And they accuse you of it being fake 😒🙄.

And, of course, because eBay is so heavily biased in favour of unscrupulous, lying scammers you have no choice but to offer a return and are now out of pocket 2x the postage amount, the listing fee and the profit that you had made on the item.

Never. Selling. Again!!!!

Brew anyone?

What's pissed on your frites so far today?

The cost of tickets to see the play 'The Wipers Times' in Birmingham.

Advertised as "from £10 to £15", the tickets cost £39.50 for the only night I can manage.

Add £4.50 for a programme and £2.50 booking fee FROM THE THEATRE'S OWN WEBSITE NOT AN AGENCY and I'm looking at £46.50 for a single ticket.

I can't afford that.

ChateauneufDuTwat · 05/10/2018 12:19

That sucks WTF Sad.

I sometimes berate myself for not doing more cultural stuff like the theatre, ballet etc and look for tickets and then remember why I don't. It's just so expensive and there are always more dull but important things to spend my money on, like bills. Sigh.

Rather off subject, but keep an eye on the cinema, they do live screenings of ballets, operas and plays for about £12.

WTFIsAGleepglorp · 05/10/2018 12:57

Yup. I know.

But this isn't going to be in a local cinema.

Sold some brand new trainers, buyer received them wore them a few days then complained that THEY SQUEAKED when she walked!!! Had to refund and accept a return of no longer new trainers! Furious!
She didn’t even send them back the same service I’d originally posted either which made me even more angry as they could have gotten lost and when they did come back, they didn’t squeak!!

Witchend · 05/10/2018 13:59

I'm on the other side. I've rarely had any issues, but I ordered a fair amount of fabric and two things I've had to launch a dispute.
One is a colour issue. I asked for a baby blue, and the colour that's come is clearly royal (it matches exactly the royal on their page too, so it wasn't me making assumptions)
The other I ordered 10m and 1m has come.

Either could be honest mistakes. However neither has got back to me on my first message, so I will be giving it two more days they raising dispute.

Selling my iPhone 6S.

People are just so rude. I was offered £45 because I "won't get more than £100 anyway"!

WHAT KIND OF LOGIC IS THAT?!

Someone wants it for £180 so not all bad, I suppose.

UpstartCrow · 05/10/2018 16:40

CF asked me if I would cancel the auction and take less than the existing bid.
No fuck off I will not.

sold an expensive teddy bear (from winnie pooh film) Merryweather brand, to an American last November he waited until February this year to say it was wrong item (has 6 months to do this) immediatly the £200 was taken out of my paypal account (which I had already transfered to bank account) so paypal in red. many phone calls to paypal but eventually after 6 months (this June) the money was returned to me. Apparnetly paypal open a case with his bank and as his bank didn't respond they believed me and returned the cash. Now only post to great britain.

Tahani · 05/10/2018 16:54

oh the sellers who have low prices, but thats for the 'sample' option and the real item is 10x more, bugs the heck out of me

SistersOfPercy · 05/10/2018 17:06

from the other side..

DH bought a 'brand new and unused' bit of electrical kit from FB marketplace last week. I thought when it came it looked a bit finger print ridden but on trying to fit it, it transpires it's registered to someone else - so not brand new and unused.
Contact seller, still willing to be reasonable if they can get it deregistered. Seller says not a problem.
Seller comes back an hour later to say bear with them as item was actually bought second hand by their father and they need original owner to deregister. So new in box to THIRD FUCKING HAND.

She seemed surprised when I opened a PayPal case for it's return.

Why lie though? You're now out 2 lots of postage.

glueandstick · 05/10/2018 17:09

I’ve been accused of not having the goods and charging too much for them as no one could source things like that in that quantity.

The reason they are expensive is that it took me a bloody long time and effort to get them. And they are rare. Fuck off the lot of them

lexi727 · 05/10/2018 17:23

I've made a beef stew, left it in the slow cooker. Have just checked on it and it tastes DISGUSTING. I'm so sad. I was going to freeze it in batches and now I'm going to have to throw it all away. I splashed out on expensive beef as well

xsquared · 05/10/2018 17:43

eBay/Schpock one: I list brand new pair of boots and receive lots of low offers. CF offers me £55 when they’re £170 in the shop. I decline and he immediately makes a second offer of £65, stating that they’re only £80 from M and M. I counter offer with £75, which is still £95 cheaper than what you’d pay in the shop. CF then sends a stroppy message saying “£65 last offer, they (sic) only £80 in M and M and I can return them if any issues”.
Then buy them from bloody M and M! Why are you less likely to have an issue with them just because you offer less?

Anyway, I sold them for a good price in the end on EBay.
