Watching (and enjoying) future man. Which includes in the lead cast Josh Hutcherson (peeta from hunger games) and Haley Joel Osment (the wee boy in 6th sense!)

They are both playing very much adult roles, I didn't even RECOGNISE Haley!

Did my usual wiki check and ffs! Josh is only 8 years older than my daughter! And Haley (who in my head is STILL a wee boy) is playing a scientist! Ie someone who's not only been to uni, but has at least one PhD!

Sorry but it shouldn't be allowed, CHILDREN playing adults, making us take them serious and shit!

Don't even get me started on Ed Begley junior as Josh's characters father! He's only a few years younger than my dad! This makes no sense!

Feeling bloody ancient now

Having similar thoughts when I see actors my age playing parents to adults! Wtf! We're not old enough!

What's been your 'shit this is making me feel old' tv/film moment?

Oh forgot to say - Haley is 4 years OLDER than Josh - how?!

Ha, I know the feeling. For me it's also seeing actors that were popular in the 90s and thinking shit- they look so old! Then realising they really aren't that much older than me I'm not even 40 yet!

Graphista · 01/10/2018 22:47

Gawd I'm 46 so I maybe should be starting to feel old - but under 40's shouldn't!

Those memes on FB telling me EXACTLY how old my favourite 80's films are don't help either. Friends similarly tap the Shock face!

Several are hitting the 30 year old mark and a few 35 years! So almost as old as you?

Haley has a beard. Noooooo. Completely didn't recognise him.
And Peeta AKA josh should stop swearing. He’s supposed to be a nice boy.
I’m soooooooo old. Sob.

Graphista · 01/10/2018 22:56

The part where wee boy Haley was being "seduced" noooooo he's not hit puberty yet! Major cringe!

The beard is clearly stuck on Wink

You're not alone. My guilty pleasure is Riverdale. It's so bad it's good iyswim.
But I watch it for the dad's! Skeet Ulrich and Luke Perry. Loved them in my teens, and now they're the hot dad's society!
(I'm in my mid 30s and feeling ancient!!)

Graphista · 01/10/2018 23:08

OMG yes! Skeet's in 2 of my favourite films - Scream and The craft. Which I think of as "new" films and dd takes too fucking much delight in telling me that they're older than her! Both of which came out when Josh was FOUR! A blooming toddler!!

They're two of my favourite films as well. And I refuse to believe that they're old!

They've gotta stop casting children as adults 😂😂

SpoonBlender · 01/10/2018 23:19

Ahhh - I'm not overly bothered by actors I remember being cute and teenage being grey all of a sudden. My friends are like that too.

What makes me feel old is jump cuts, short attention span cinematography, and (somehow these go together) nearly three hour long films.

I basically gave up going to the cinema when movies started generally being over two hours. Lord of the Rings era, I guess - saw the first, waited to watch 2 and 3 in the comfort of my own sofa.

Graphista · 01/10/2018 23:57

Oh god yes the "jumpy" filming - give me a well written linear narrative (even with plot twists) any time
