Seedlip tastes like peas. I had one served with peas in it. It wasn’t nice.

Would much rather have cucumber and tonic instead.

PavlovianLunge · 30/09/2018 21:49

I’m not normally a fan of Schweppes, but they have a new range, ‘1763’, no artificial sweeteners and there’s a cucumber flavour. I haven’t tried it on its own, but it’s vwry good with Hendrick’s.

I found the herby Seedlip to be undrinkable.

Spanglyprincess1 · 30/09/2018 21:52

Seedlip and cucumber tonic...it's really good and alchol free. Was my pregnancy friend! I also drink it as my bar bought it in for me , so I can have a nice drink while breastfeeding

Spanglyprincess1 · 30/09/2018 21:53

Sainsbury's do a alchol free section and have a botanical liqeaur which is aldchol.free. not tried it but it looks tasty!

anniehm · 30/09/2018 21:58

I drink slimline tonic with a good wedge of lime, no indigestion thankfully (I only get that from sugar and alcohol) I've seen juniper cordial, was with coffee flavours in probably Waitrose or Morrison's, but I'm not a loyal shopper so could be another

Bluntness100 · 30/09/2018 22:03

Whether you like seedlip or not is subjective but it's no way a gin substitute, not even close....

wowfudge · 30/09/2018 22:04

There's a non-alcoholic gin called Chasity 'no sin gin' in an item in the Ocado magazine. £20 a bottle so cheaper than Seedlip. I want to try these things before I commit to buying as they're not cheap.

Haven’t found anything yet!

But I’m so sick of Diet Coke I want a naice drink in the evening!

WineIsMyCarb · 30/09/2018 22:30

Voila. Almost indistinguishable from Bombay Sapphire IMO:

I just bought DH the Tesco 0.5% alcohol gin and tonic - he said it was lovely

IsTheRainEverComingBack · 30/09/2018 22:41

Try the Cedar’s non alcohol spirits, there’s a few

LEMtheoriginal · 30/09/2018 22:42

Just fainted at the price of the seedlip - my God!! Although ill happily pay that for a bottle of Hendricks so maybe i should give it a go.

Seedlip is right up there among the biggest rip offs of all time.

More expensive than gin. Tastes like a nasty cordial. Wtaf?

I'd content myself with one of the fever tree flavoured tonics. Or there are a couple of decent alcohol free beers out there.

nononsene · 30/09/2018 22:44

Seedlip is nice as long as the proportions are right. DH made me a seedlip and tonic and didn’t measure properly and it wasn’t very nice. Too much seedlip.

LEMtheoriginal · 30/09/2018 22:47

Just that i want a nice drink in the evenings but i dont want to drink alcohol every day. I only tend to have the one but still my liver probably resembles a walnut

Please don't pay seedlip prices to achieve this.

fancy soft drinks are your friends; fever tree, fentimens, daylesford, that kind of stuff.

whilst not G&Tlike, M&S do some nice flavoured sodas. They pop too so you can get a prosecco vibe

Alabasterangel6 · 30/09/2018 23:15

When we’ve been doing dry months DH and myself (and all the posters on the dry groups on here) find the best substitute for g&t to be a quality tonic with ice and cucumber or lemon, and 3 drops of angostura bitters.

Before anyone clutches pearls and saying ‘but it is alcoholic’, technically bitters are - but 4 drops isn’t going to do a damn thing. We (dry folks) emailed angostura about it and they replied that it’ll make your tonic something like 0.03% abv. So for a cutting right back night it’s a lovely choice. Tastes very grown up indeed.
