Bad breath

AIBU to ask for help with my bad breath? NC for this obviously! I don’t think it is rotten smelling maybe more like dog breath iyswim....

I feel like a social outcast who everyone thinks is dirty and unpleasant, it is ruining my life. I don’t speak up in meetings at work and act strangely if someone gets close

My boyfriend says I am imagining it but his sense of smell isn’t great. I see people put their hands in front of their nose and lean back when I speak which is so upsetting as I know this is horrible to experience

Is there something more I can do? Can anyone help me? I brush, floss and clean my tongue twice a day, use an electric toothbrush, use CB12 mouthwash, visit the dentist and hygienist twice a year who say I have good teeth and oral hygiene. I drink litres of water every day and eat breakfast although I do drink coffee sometimes and sleep with my mouth open which I know can cause it. I avoid garlic and onions and other smelly food and rebrush etc ahead of meetings in the afternoons. I’ve tried many expensive mouth sprays, washes, gums, pastes, lozenges, you name it but nothing seems to help. I do the arm licking test (when I am alone LOL!)

Does anyone have any suggestions? This is really upsetting me - Thank you

Are you sure it's as bad as you are making out? You sound quite obsessed.

I can't believe people recoil in horror and cover their noses when you speak to them.

Your boyfriend I assume kisses you. Surely he wouldn't if it was that bad, or he would tell you the truth.

Have you got anyone else close who you would trust to tell you the truth?

It is impacting on your life and becoming an obsession that may be just in your head.

You may be suffering with Halitosis, which is nothing to do with oral hygiene, but I think is the stomach gases released by your gut.
Try a visit to your Doctor and you may be able to have something prescribed to help reduce this.
I used to work with a lady with this condition and would never have given her any indication that she was offending me, so I am truly sorry your colleagues are acting so obviously and rudely.
Hope you are able to find something that helps OP...

Could you have tonsil stones? An ex had them and they were really problematic. There's info about them online. Just mentioning it as all the brushing and gloss in the world won't affect them.

I thought of tonsil stones too.

Go see your dentist and your doctor and get it sorted

Are you eating enough as a very low cal diet can make your breath smell
