To go to the hairdresser tomorrow with a cold?

It's just hit me and I'm really bunged up with a sore throat.

My hairdresser is usually on her own in her small salon and it'll mean she won't have a client for that time slot. At the same time she probably doesn't want to catch my cold.

What to do?

Also - is it better to ask this question here on mumsnet, or should I do a Twitter poll?

Call her and ask.

PickAChew · 29/09/2018 00:42

Depends how bad the cold.

LoveAGoodChat · 29/09/2018 00:44

See how you feel in the morning...but bear in mind if it is a cold you could pass it on to her customers or even her, and if there is only her working at her salon and she has to take time off sick then she will lose how ever many days earnings....

LoveAGoodChat · 29/09/2018 00:44

Why would you want to do a twitter poll?

Losingthewill1 · 29/09/2018 01:36

As someone who has not the greatest immune system it would depend on your cold.

Your hair dresser will be close to you a lot of the time etc

Larasshadow · 29/09/2018 09:35

Why not ask your hairdresser?

Ansumpasty · 29/09/2018 09:41

Ask the hairdresser- then you’ve done your bit by letting her know

Hwory · 29/09/2018 09:44

I mean it’ll only effect the hairdresser but sure ask mumsnet and a twitter poll instead of your hairdresser ffs.

Ceilingrose · 29/09/2018 09:52

No you shouldn't, as the cold could also transfer to the customers. Some of whom may have conditions which make a cold problematic.

ToadOfSadness · 29/09/2018 10:04

If you gave me a cold I would hate you. I don't cope well with them and would have to take time off.

It is also about 3 days before it becomes really bad so in that time would be infecting customers, family, friends, everyone I came into contact with. Always used to ask people not to keep appointments when they had a cold, not just for the loss of work but for the ill feeling.
