My friend has met this guy he is good looking and charming. She has spent time with him at his place. He has not asked her out on a date as yet, says he is interested in her and wants to get to know her better. But does not text very regularly and does not reply to her texts for hours. Is she wasting her time, is he keeping his options open thats what i think!

Why has she spent time at his place? Did he invite her, are they friends? I think that if he's interested, he would just ask her out. He's keeping her dangling in case someone better doesn't come along. He's not that bothered. Your friend should make herself unavailable and see how he reacts. I wouldn't be 'spending time' at his anymore, without a proper date first.
