To be annoyed at Easyjet? (Obv I'm not, but I'm still cross)

You know the way Easyjet flights in THEORY start cheap and then as they book up, they get more expensive?

Last week I got a notification that Easter flights were open for booking, so I immediately booked our flights (we do the same thing for Easter & Summer every year so it's easy) and got a fab price of £60 each, each way and was thrilled. This morning I got the notification that summer flights were open, so I searched, and they are £250 each, each way.

Obv. they have not booked up yet - they've opened prices at £250. And yes, yes, yes - it's a capitalist society and they can do what they want, and yes, people are booking at this price etc. but I'm pissed off, because how much more organised can I BE about this? Angry

Nah, prices go up and down. People think they only ever go up, so they'll pay whatever price they are on for at the start, but it's not always true. Particularly if people don't book initially because they think it's too expensive!

Also, clear your cookies/have a look at prices in incognito mode. Sometimes they hike prices up if you've previously looked at them on the same device.

I booked flights for peak holiday period next summer for 5 of us to the south of France for less than £100 each. Bargain. It does also have a little "lowest price" label on the web page.

Easyjet are very open about when they release flights for the summer season. I've had the date marked on the calendar for weeks. I'm sure I'm not alone in logging in first thing this morning and snagging cheap flights. Maybe they've already sold 100 seats on the plane you're looking at. The system is that the first X number of seats are sold at a particular price, then that price goes up. It's not that X price is held for a week/month or whatever and then increases.

You snooze, you lose.

Are the Easter flights before Brexit? Maybe EJ are building in some risk on the summer flights for Open Skies going pear shaped after Brexit?

My flight going out cost me £72. It's now £87. Coming back, the flight was £32, has now gone up to £60.

Because people are booking the seats, not because of an easyjet conspiracy.
