Aibu to think this is not how I should expect to collect my case at the airport?

Name changed as outing. Arrived back from holiday yesterday. This is how my case was when I collected it.
AIBU to think I should be able to go on holiday and trust an airline to look after my case after spending thousands of pounds on the holiday.
As soon as I noticed it I reported it. I was given a piece of paper that basically says don’t bother claiming we have limited liability and claim off your own holiday insurance.
I’m so annoyed.
Airline - TUI
Airport - Manchester.

Yes we got shown pictures too, weren't offered a choice of colours though. I was really impressed, and our case was probably 15 years old and showed it. Definitely go back to them, it's significant damage which has not been caused by age or wear and tear. Good luck and keep us posted!

We had this when travelling abroad. The foreign airport refused to do anything. I understand why you are angry. I now only buy cheap suitcases.

This has happened to my sister twice at Manchester. She got a new case both times but it shouldn’t be happening at all.

Well I’d rather have my case coming back like that than the TSA people at jfk fucking the zip on my case despite having one of those tsa apporved locks on it

I think TUI gave me a new case a few years ago after it was broken (and cash for the pushchair they also wrecked).
