34 weeks and keep convincing myself I am in labour...

Had a very turbulent pregnancy. Lots of scares from bleeding to high bp to an anomaly on the scan. I've had so much go wrong, and constantly expect the worst.

Now, every time I have any pregnancy symptoms I convince myself I'm going in to labour and completely panic.

Braxton hicks = labour.
Sickness today = labour.
Tummy pains = labour.
Diarrhoea = labour.

Everything freaks me out and makes me think I'm going in to early labour. I'm currently feeling extremely sick and like I'm going to vomit. No idea why. Maybe because I was walking out in the heat. Got a few stabby pains in my belly too. (Part of me is panicking that I'm 150 miles away from home and about to go in to labour).

AIBU to feel like this? Is this a normal worry to have? Do I need to get a grip? Panic mode officially entered!

It is normal. You don't know what to expect so easy to get stressed. I am 34 weeks too with DC2 and felt utterly awful today but instead of panicing just try enjoy this last bit. If you are actually in labour early at any point hospitals and ambulances are all nearby if needed. And I say all of this currently having an extremly high risk pregancy with lots of bumps on the way. Panicing wont fix anything but not panicing is much less stressful.

I think I would be okay if I was at home but I'm away. DP not here. Terrified of giving birth on my own!

I got nausea / return of my morning sickness around 34 weeks.

I was also really worried about early labour but in the end I knew for sure! It's not the small symptoms that matter!

I feel nauseous, lower back pain and weird low down crampy feelings. Really irritable. Feeling pissed off I'm so far away from home and genuinely panicking I'm in labour.

Even if your 150 miles away from home I'm sure there is a perfectly good hospital or midwife team nearby.

Studentnurse1981 · 26/09/2018 20:57

Lower back pain and cranky is normal for 34 weeks.. if your in labour you will k is as the pains will increase in strength and duration. It all sounds normal for your gestation

Studentnurse1981 · 26/09/2018 20:57

Crampy not cranky lol

GucciMara · 26/09/2018 21:13

Haven't even been to a birth class yet so no idea what the signs of labour are. It's just because it's all kicked in at once. Suddenly my lower back aches, getting cramps and feel nauseous. All in the space of an hour. Really need to relax. It's put me in one of those horrid moods where I'm just irritable and horrible to everyone. Just want to be at home with the comfort of knowing DP is near.

Why don't you contact the local maternity unit where you are and get checked out?
It's the only way of knowing if you're overthinking or if something else is happening.

As it is it could be any number of non pregnancy related things causing these feelings but you won't know that unless you get checked. So for reassurance, phone the maternity unit, explain you're out of area and your concerns and go from there.

Sitting worrying about it will not make you feel any better but going in to be checked will
