AIBU Labour party and LIb-Dems should get together?

Is it just me, or is it more and more incomprehensible why the Labour party and the Lib-Dems can’t just fucking co-operate and create some kind of party coalition in order to properly oppose the Tories? AIBU not understanding what’s actually stopping them? I can't see enough difference to justify two parties - and I have myself been in both at different times.

I feel for you Boogle - my parents live in a constituency that is both Lib Dem and majority Remain! Scammy bastards.

Can’t speak for myself, but DH is a lifelong libdem supporter.

He would abandon the party if it went into coalition with Labour. As much as he hates the Tories, he hates Labour more. As a Remainer, neither party offers anything to Remainers from the perspective of Brexit.

McDonnell’s policies are nuts and would destroy the economy. They don’t align with Cable’s views at all.

Since these threads inevitably become remainers kicking off about brexit, may I ask if you are so keen to stop brexit and yet didnt/(wouldnt)vote lib dem in the last election why not?
Considering how united the party is on the issue (especially compared to labour/tories) what stopped you?

I thought Labour had a chance at winning last time and didn't think Lib Dem did. Plus my MP is v good.

I probably would this time since a Tory or a Labour vote is a vote for Brexit while Corbyn still leads it. Brexit is the only thing that matters to me at present because general election votes apply for 5 years max unlike advisory referendums whose results are valid until the end of time apparently.

Considering it was labour who introduced tuition fees in the first place, if we are to follow labour supporters principals and allow to whitewash history that's inconvenient then not holding the lib Dems to the same standards us just treating politics as a 'team sport'
