The police came out to the neighbour in your block at 2am in the morning for violence and intimidation of a woman?

They have been an utter nightmare since they moved in, drugs, damage ,noise and more. One of them has a criminal record for an unprovoked violent attack already.
All kinds of low life visiting day in day out.

I'm on my own with my two kids and scared of retaliation from the people they have threatened who knows where they live but landlord is about to renew neighbours contract.

I'm totally fed up. I'm trying my best to save up to move.

Yes I would tell the landlord and hopefully they will be gone soon and your life will be peaceful again. But then I m a stubborn cow who doesn't take shit.
Ll shouldn't be able to tell them you have complained. If you get hassle call police.I bet you're not the only one in the street pissed off with it. And I bet the police know exactly what they're like (probably on first name terms with them).
Good luck

Yes. Tell the ll that they have been approached by police and also that people have threatened them. If it were my property my mind would immediately jump to potential property damage.

Unicornandbows · 25/09/2018 12:36

Tell them

NameChangeJustThisOnce1 · 25/09/2018 12:38

Yes absolutely tell the landlord. Unfortunately I have a feeling that he or she is going to have a fight on their hand and will require a bailiff to get them out! Scum bags like that never back down. People like that make me sick to my stomach!

Boxesandroses · 25/09/2018 12:55

Other people not even in the block have complained about noise and drugs.

Namechange I agree!

yes, definitely. ways to do it:

  • look up the property on rightmove (tick the let agreed' ) box and see if there is an agent. contact them.
  • pay £3 to the land registry to see if the landlord has registered their own address for the property. Stupid or crooked landlords dont do this.

be aware that eviction takes months and crimina l tenant behaviour makes no difference.

sorry about garbled punctuation. Mn coding is sloppy.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 25/09/2018 16:10

Yes. Because some councils have a Landlord license and it includes holding them responsible for anti social behaviour of tenants!

This is slowly becoming more popular with more councils finding ways of holding LLs responsible for T behaviour - as if they were still kids!

specialsubject · 25/09/2018 16:12

thats a thought - although there is unlikely to be any enforcement. Landlord is a fool though - druggies dont prioritise rent payment!

Halfsiblingsmadecontact · 25/09/2018 16:19

Definitely. I know someone who had to get two tenants out shortly after taking over responsibility for their tenancies, and the local police were very supportive of them doing so. Not an easy process but hopefully now they have new tenants in it is all going to be a lot better!

TeddybearBaby · 25/09/2018 19:21

Yeah do! I know someone who is being evicted because the police have been called and caused a nuisance to the neighbours. Good luck!
