just find it so hard. I don't know what it is. I'll have a healthy and balanced breakfast and before it's even 11am I'm pushing me pram passed Asda and feel ragey and unsettled until I've eaten some chocolate or something.

My diet is ridiculously poor. I'm quite ashamed to say as I know MN will not approve

I wake up, down a sugar free 7UP. Eat some brioche with ham, maybe scoff a few M&Ms. Scoff another 7UP.

Lunchtime comes, I probably don't have anything to eat. If I do, it's probably a ready meal lasagne. Another few 7UPs or diet cokes. A handful of sweets.

Dinner time comes, probably just more crisps, chocolate and sweets. Handfuls here and there. Maybe a proper dinner with DH such as broccoli, spinach and vegetarian chicken. But I will graze here and there afterwards.

I have tried stopping but I feel really low and miserable when I do. I'm not sure where to go from here.

I'm a Size 10/12. Before my son 10 months ago, I had crippling HG sickness and didn't eat much at all for the whole duration. Before that, I was an athletic size 10, healthy and had more control. I've always drank fizzy drinks though.

I'm still athletic in build but I've developed a little tummy It'll get much worse if I don't stop now.

I have tried giving up fizzy drinks but for some reason feel shaky when I do. Not sure why as they're just sugar free lemonades really.

You need to make small changes so it doesn't hit you all at once. I definitely wouldn't go for anything faddy like slimming world etc. In the situation you describe you need to learn new habits and how to make healthy choices, not lose a massive amount of weight.

Isn't that proven to be bad for you? No. It used to be believed it was, but research is quickly showing that it depends on your metabolism and appetite - it's easy to distinguish between the two 'sets' of people - those who get hungry after eating breakfast and those who can easily last until lunch.

Those who don't get hungry after eating breakfast (until lunch) have a metabolism that requires frequent feeding, those who do get hungry are those who benefit from fewer meals.

It's all to do with how your body reacts to insulin and other metabolic hormones - some require regular input to stabilise, some do better with fewer spikes and therefore fewer troughs (so eating less frequently).

I eat breakfast and gain weight. Regardless of what I eat for breakfast. The reason is that it makes me hungrier for the rest of the day so I eat more calories over the day.

I'm T2 diabetic, and had to radically overhaul my diet 3 years ago. My diet now consists of mainly whole foods... lots of vegetables, lentils, beans, odd bit of Quorn, wholemeal bread, small baked potatoes or 3/4 new potatoes in their skins, 2 tablespoons of brown rice or brown pasta. I make lots of soups, veggie casseroles, and don't buy any junk in. My occasional treat is a square of dark chocolate or some cheese and biscuits. Once your way of eating becomes a habit (think I read somewhere it takes 66 days), it is second nature. Now if I overeat, I feel really poorly for 2/3 days after.

You don’t need a slimming club becuase you don’t need to lose weight you just need to swap the rubbish food choices for good ones! This is easily sorted really my love

Breakfast at the moment your basically having mouthfuls of sugar and it’s certianly not balanced! What about scrambled eggs? Omelette? Peanut butter on toast? Beans on toast? Porridge ( can use a dairy alternative milk as you can’t have dairy)

Always have lunch sitting down with the little one. Make yourself a salad or soup for example

Dinner, sounds like your actual meal with your dh is just fine. Even when looking to eat healthy choices imo you can have a portion of anything as long as you watch the quantity and if for example your having something less healthy (I.e pizza) then always have a side of veg or salad with it.

Stop the picking, don’t buy rubbish food, if you are really hungry you will eat the carrot or the apple instead

I don’t personally see anything wrong with 7up free or Diet Coke, I’ve always had a few cans on Diet Coke and it’s not done me any harm.

I'm not a big fan of SW because the long-term result isn't always what you'd hope for; I lost three stone last year by going to a PT who also gave me a kick up the backside with my diet and exercise, so I've not just lost weight, I've toned up and become much fitter, as well as learning about portion control and nutrition (and, apologies to SW fans, but SW is not about nutrition or portion control).

You don't need a PT, but something like My Fitness Pal App is great because you log everything including exercise, food and water intake and once you become more focussed on what you're eating, you begin to make better choices. MFP's app is still something I use regularly and it helps so much with recognising what's missing from your diet.

I can't eat dairy because I'm breastfeeding and my son is allergic you realise there is dairy in the brioche and m&ms you are eating?
