to think there might be someone here who can answer my Afro hair question?

I'm taking my braids down today and have just realised I've run out of eco styler 😱 I've got a lot of hair and use this to slick it back in to a bun and keep everything laid down all day. Problem is I live in an area that has no Afro hair stores and am going away tomorrow for 5 days! Any chance anyone can suggest a gel that I can get from a regular store like boots/tesco that will lay my hair down?

Long shot I know, I'm going to join an Afro hair forum but most good ones are American!

Not expecting anyone to be able to help me here so probably BU even asking Grin

Can only think of Shea Moisture products sorry - the gel souffle is cheaper in Superdrug (£8 I think). Product availability sucks with afro hair - luckily I live a 30 minute train away from Brixton so I can get what I need without too much bother. Growing up though in Wales it was impossible!

@Rach182 - that may be where I live.... Grin thank you! Think I'm just going to have to embrace my natural or dig out my head scarves...

Do you have a Morrison's near you? They have recently expanded their afro/ natural hair care range to include Curls blueberry bliss. They have an edge control and a gel.

I tend to water down eco gel too, I do use handfuls though Grin

Yeah mine is mega thick and coarse and takes bloody days to dry! Diffusing my hair is the bane of my life Grin

Olive Oil Edge Control Gel might be your best bet then as they do it at Tesco's and it's nice and cheap at least:

There's a review here on someone who has a natural 4 texture (although it looks straight in the first few secs of the video but I think they are growing out their natural hair)
