AIBU to expect to be paid travelling time?

I work part time and am paid hourly. I have to go to a meeting next week that is approx 3 hours away from where I work. Am AIBU to expect to be paid for the 6 hours travelling time?

Ask your boss.

Definitely depends on your contract. I'm on salary and have travelled outside of my usual working hours. I haven't got the time back at another point nor have I expected to. DP also frequently travels with work and I guess the only time he gets his travel time back is if he goes to the States and gets a Thursday night flight back, he won't go into work the next day.

In your case, definitely ask your boss if you can switch work days. You'll still only get paid for 6 hours but at least that's double what you'd get if you could only claim for the 3.

If you are going with your boss, you should get paid from the time he picks you up, to the time he drops you back off, as you are at work!
