My girlfriend thinks I shouldn't be on here

My girlfriend of two years thinks it's odd I'm a member and should be on Dadsnet. Is she right or wrong.

Losingthewill1 · 23/09/2018 17:30

I don’t think it’s wrong, if you want an insight into how women think or what they would do then be my guest.

RangeRider · 23/09/2018 17:31

It's only because she may want to post about you!

Gemini69 · 23/09/2018 17:32

Welcome to 2 years of Mumsnet ... I don't mind atall ... Grin

WineGummyBear · 23/09/2018 17:32

It's not an exclusive club!

One of the things I like about this site is there are lots of different perspectives.

TheQueef · 23/09/2018 17:32

Dadsnet is part of mumsnet.

We just don't mention it.

MaggieSimpsonsPacifier · 23/09/2018 17:33

No problem with men being members, but - why do so many male posters feel the need to announce they are men? It’s like the online equivalent of getting a seat on the tube and then manspreading your legs as far as possible!

SoupDragon · 23/09/2018 17:34

why do so many male posters feel the need to announce they are men?

To be fair, they can’t win. Sometimes people complain that they had no idea X was Male and that they shouldn’t have hidden it.

CommuterBlue · 23/09/2018 18:15

Thanks all. Seems she agrees with @RangeRider Shock

OP posts:
Lethaldrizzle · 23/09/2018 18:16

I think it's a wee bit odd but doesn't bother me

laurG · 23/09/2018 18:21

I actually think mumsnet should be renamed to reflect both parents. Dads have just as much questions about parenting.

HildaZelda · 23/09/2018 18:25

Doesn't bother me. There are a lot of women on here who aren't actually mum's.

DramaAlpaca · 23/09/2018 18:26

There are plenty of blokes on here. It doesn't bother me in the least unless they are being pervy, twatty or come on announcing that they are male & promptly start mansplaining.

Sparklingbrook · 23/09/2018 18:27

What have you been posting about?

I would be a bit Confused if DH posted on MN TBH. I don't think it will happen any time soon, he says everything on here is made up. Grin

AnyFucker · 23/09/2018 18:28

Why are you on here ?

safetyfreak · 23/09/2018 18:28

Another, "I am a man on MN" thread, boring.

Aprilsinparis · 23/09/2018 18:30

Welcome, CommuterBlueSmile

Glumglowworm · 23/09/2018 18:32

I have no problem with men being on MN

I just don’t understand why they need to start threads about being a man on MN as if they want everyone to coo over how special they are

Returnofthesmileybar · 23/09/2018 18:36

Ya I'd definitely hate it if dh posted here, no problem with men in general on here, just not my husband

PurpleDaisies · 23/09/2018 18:39

Plenty of posters aren’t mums. Lots of men here too.

PurpleDaisies · 23/09/2018 18:39

I'd definitely hate it if dh posted here, no problem with men in general on here, just not my husband

I feel exactly the same.

KC225 · 23/09/2018 18:39

Do you identify as a woman? Go on admit it.

TheSultanofPingu · 23/09/2018 18:40

It would be odd if the Op didn't state he was a man in this instance as that is the whole basis of the thread surely.

JungMum · 23/09/2018 18:41

It depends really.

Was this ''her space'' to begin with?

In theory it's good but if you want insight in to women is that so that you can be a better man or so that you gain an advantage. I hesitate to just say yes, 100% it's perfectly fine for you to be here in your GF's space.

Gardai · 23/09/2018 18:42

Yes OP do tell what you like about mumsnet over the last 2 years ?

Pebblesandfriends · 23/09/2018 18:44

I would find it odd if my DH was on here
