My friend is disgusted... I was shocked at her response...

Who is right?

I wouldn’t, because at 2.5 mine would have been saying ‘what’s happening mummy?’, ‘what’s that man doing mummy?’ Etc etc.

greatbigwho · 23/09/2018 08:53

Absolutely not. The amount of stuff they pick up is astounding, and they'll be listening even if not looking at the screen.

Mummytowooter · 23/09/2018 12:32

I would watch criminal minds a lot when my DD was less than 1.5 yo. Never with her in the room afterwards due to the content as I just didn’t feel comfortable with her there. It never seemed to bother her but they pick up on so much.

darkriver198868 · 23/09/2018 12:48

Personally wouldnt.

BuntyII · 23/09/2018 12:52

No, how would you even hear it over the constant chatter anyway Grin

AbsentmindedWoman · 23/09/2018 12:53

No way!

And I do love Criminal Minds. But not with a child around.

LeeRoar · 23/09/2018 12:59

I wouldn't. I haven't watched it in forever but there are some scenes that still pop into my nightmares every once and a while.

Celebelly · 23/09/2018 13:02

I wouldn't. I love Criminal Minds but it is extremely dark and has a lot of quite frightening stuff for adults, let alone children.

Gottagetmoving · 23/09/2018 13:03

I was scared of watching Dr. Who when I was 7! It was just the music and opening titles that scared me!

Justnoclue · 23/09/2018 13:10

Long before children can articulate things back to you, they are learning and absorbing from what they see and hear around them.

They take in more than you think.

That would be a definite no from me as this show is very disturbing sometimes.

Camomila · 23/09/2018 13:14

I wouldn't. Even if there's no obvious murder etc. my 2.5 picks up any tension on screen and asks 'oh no why they grumpy/crying' and gets upset.
He also doesn't like scary music.
We can basically only watch cookery/quiz shows/documentaries when he's about.

Meepmoop · 23/09/2018 13:18

I wouldn't and I love that sort of programme. I still watch more adult programmes with my 1 year old on but more like Merlin where it's more lighthearted and you don't actually see anything

PinkBuffalo · 23/09/2018 13:19

I love criminal minds but wouldn't have it on with a child in the room. It's quite disturbing sometimes. Strictly for grown ups!
