The 17 year old or parents? It's to get to college. It's costing £30 a week. The college is around 18 miles away, had no choice for the course.

Curious who should pay?

We paid for DS’s petrol until uni. We now pay for servicing and MOT but he pays for petrol out of his uni loan. When he starts earning independently he’ll have full responsibility.

DS was lucky to have been give DM’s old car at 17 and he had an ulgrade for his 21st birthday. It has been a godsend as both DH and I have had serious illnesses in recent years. DS could ferry us around when we couldn’t drive and he has built up nearly 5 years no claims of his own.
