Truly generous freecycle posters

We are getting rid of some furniture so I went to my (new) local freecycle group and I have seen this, aren't some people truly generous?

I had to read it twice. AIBU to think it shouldn't be allowed to post these kind of things?

Did did you think maybe 'dirt' was manure? There's a big market / demand for that among gardeners as well.

NainAGP · 19/09/2018 15:49

We've just been across town to collect just this sort of thing, we built up the sides of some flower beds and then needed soil to fill them up. The freecycler was rearranging her garden so winwin for all of us. That's the point of Freecycle.

I actually thought you were genuinely saying how kind and generous the Freecycle poster was! I didn't spot the sarcasm! LOL

SweetLathyrus · 19/09/2018 15:57

If you're not a gardener, OP, you wouldn't know how magic composted turf is as top soil. And if, later in Autumn, anyone was to offer bags of leaves near me, I would be there like a shot!

(Yes gardeners can obsess about the oddest things).

Dirt has always equaled soil in these here parts, there''s been a lot of effort put into your judging today hasn't there, perhaps a more productive past time (like gardeningGrin) would be a better channel for them! Smile

We accepted an offer exactly like this, this summer. We were truly grateful. In fact also received old patio slabs, hardcore and bricks. We now have a lovely patio mostly made from reclaimed materials. Good for the environment and esp our pocket! Love freecycle

Well your op was pretty rude too. There are obviously things I don't know, but I don't go around being arsey and sarcastic when I don't get something. You were suggesting that everything you can't personally see a use for should be banned on Freecycle! It's not like someone posted offering rotten fish finger sandwiches.

frogsoup · 19/09/2018 21:41

And arf at "There is no need to be sarcastic"!!!

I took a picture of my garden and invite people on free cycle to come and help themselves the weekend before we had major building work. Plants and soil and stones were bagged up and taken away.
