Aibu to frustrated with a signed for letter?

Came home to a tracked delivery that needed to be signed for letter through my door, no one in to sign for it. It was from my abusive ex's family so if I had been here I would have said no.

Aibu to be upset that royal mail posted it through the door without me signing for it? Worried it will show to his family as me signing and end up causing me problems

Our old postie used to do this, I'm sure they thought they were being helpful but I don't think they should be signing for stuff on the receiver's behalf.

Have you opened it? I would return to sender.

You can check whether it was registered as being signed for on the tracking section of royal mail website, i think. Guessing it will be as there's normally insurance payable of not delivered within certain timeframe BUT the confirmation signature (visible on website) will not be yours so you can theoretically deny all knowledge if you would have refused to accept the letter had correct protocol been followed
