to ask you if you've ever had a photo shoot?

I've booked a pregnancy photo shoot. It was only £20 and I only get one photo to take away at the end. The photographer is amazing and we are skint, so we figured we would go with someone who could get us one amazing photo rather than a few amateurish ones.

Has anyone had a photo shoot before? How can I make the most of it considering I will only get one photo? Any advice on what would look nice as a pose for me and DP? (I will be 36 weeks pregnant so a fairly big bump!).

No idea what to wear... any ideas/advice? Am I silly only going for a one photo package?

We can't afford any more so worried that I am going to see all the lovely photos and want to buy more and not be able to...

Yes (I work as a plus size model)
Take the photographers advice on posing, ask to see the back of the camera (they should show you anyway)
Wear something that fits really nicely and looks good with DP so try and coordinate a bit! Not matching but just so you're not all done up in swish black and he's wearing a football shirt type thing

@Ollivander84 I'm in awe of you! I'm awful in front of a camera and am always envious of people who are at ease in front of a lens and end up with gorgeous photos. I'm a bit like chandler from friends...

Thank you!

I actually hate having my photo taken unless it's a shoot! I'm always the one taking the group photo on nights out Wink

I did one years ago that I won - came with a single photo - but what they did was take hundreds and then showed us them all and tried to convince us to buy the rest (at ££££s). You will need to be absolutely adamant that you're not going to buy more than the one that comes with the package, and be prepared to see photos that you love that you'll have to let go. (I will say, we were adamant, but still came away with 2 photos...)

I'd wear something that you feel confident in - it doesn't really matter what - my favourite of the 2 photos we had were where we're both in jeans.

When I lived in Dubai, virtually every British and American woman whose home I was in had a huge pregnancy posed photo on the wall -- they all had Vaseline on the lens, the women all wore white boob tubes and flowing skirts and big blowdries, and the choice of poses seemed to be either frolicking on beach (father to be with hand on bump, woman staring adoringly at him), or, if there were children already, children and father to be all 'listening' to the bump adoringly, while the woman beamed down like a Madonna.

Maybe it was all the same photographer. I hope it was. It was like the Borg.

CarlaNai · 17/09/2018 13:19

@Leland I was thinking something like this would be nice?

Only kidding!! I just want one photo along the lines of this one...

If you're planning on changing outfits, don't wear anything that might leave red marks. Pack a little emergency bag (safety pins, body lotion, wet wipes, talcum powder). Get any eyebrow waxing etc done at least 2 days before. Pop some of your favourite songs on your phone - having your music will help you relax. If there is a particular pose/look you want to include, practice and talk to your together about it.
The lights will be hot and it can be more tiring than you expect so even if not hungry before hand (nerves etc) have something.
If you're changing outfits, don't forget shoes.
Check outfits day before.
I had some done and ended up wearing a bedsheet for a couple and those were my favourite (really camped up housewife).
If you're stuck in frozen smile mode, run through vowels to loosen lips.
Hope that helps! And enjoy!

My DD and I had a photo shoot , cost £50 and I got one photo including in this price .

£398 later and I have more photos than I can display without looking a bit obsessive to visitors Grin
