So the general consensus seems to complete bafflement as to why anyone would post their food on Facebook. And “checking in” is showing off, posting things about your children is an invasion of their privacy and potentially upsetting to people struggling with fertility. Posting rants is being a drama-queen / attention seeking, posting acheievements is also showing off, posting inspirational quotes is a sign of low intelligence... the list of crimes and faux pas is endless.

So what exactly SHOULD people post on Facebook?

It always seems the snootiest, sniffiest comments about facebook come from those people who don't even use it.

Funny that Hmm

I think the thing with posts is their intention. Post things you think your wider circle of friends and family will be interested in rather than things designed to make you look good. THIS article sums up my opinion perfectly. Are you posting something that is designed to make other people happy when they read it or aimed to make you feel good about yourself (often at other people's expense).

For me you can share or post what you like. If I find it dull, boring or annoying I just scroll past. I don't really make too many judgements on it like I've seen people do on here.

I've hidden a few people on my friends list but that was more to do with them being younique zombies than anything else.

Looking at my own posts, I share things roughly 1x a week, sometimes more and sometimes less often. I'm more of a 'liker' than anything else so that probably gets on people's tits.

My posts are occasionally about my children and the photos I've taken of them; now and again I share some photos from daytrips I've been on but the the photos are of that place rather than including the people I was with; I sometimes post a status either moaning about or celebrating my scores in some photo competition I've entered; and every so often I share something political.

Looking at that list I can see that I'm probably rather annoying but I'm not a several-posts-a-day person and I am friends with people who seem to share my interests.

I am a member of a few fb groups and quite a lot of them are private or secret so, even though I'm a fairly regular contributor, my fb friends don't see that.

Oops. Ive just gone onto facebook and got myself into a bit of an argument on my local page over the state of the park. Very few people are agreeing with me! I am one of those annoying fb posters Grin
