To ask how you cope with your weak pelvic floor?

My pelvic floor is bothering me. It's been problematic for 10 years, since having my babies. I had a bladder prolapse but it has improved a lot with exercises. However it's the dragging feeling that I'm struggling with. I don't have leakage. Just the ache esp on days when I'm quite tired (I suppose it's a muscle so just aches too). I think some of my clothing makes it worse such as jeggings or anything tight. But then I feel support is what I need so it's a contradiction. Does anyone have suggestions of how to improve the ache please?

Hi I can relate I have a bladder prolapse! Have you spoke to the doctors/Physio loads they can do and suggest!

Stuckforthefourthtime · 17/09/2018 15:51

First things first - go directly to your GP and get medical help. An obstetric physio can really help, and you deserve it.

Thanks. I've been to doc and got physio. But it just seems to be getting worse and I feel fed up that I'll be this way or worse forever. I'm only 40. Just wondered if there's anything else I can do.

Improving your core strength would probably help if the physio hasn't already got you doing exefcises for that, eg squats

Ask you GP for a pessary, what used to be called a ring.
Also ask for a gynae referral.
It sounds like it could be your womb rather than your bladder.

Thank you

I do pelvic floor exercises and exercises to strengthen my core. They helped with the dragging feeling and my achy back!

Stuckforthefourthtime · 17/09/2018 19:44

Have you ever been referred to a gynaecologist? It seems to be hard to get to see one here but is the norm in many other countries -they can do a thorough internal check. Or go private if you can afford it ..

Greengrotbag · 17/09/2018 20:14

Yes thanks. I've been to a couple of gynaes and women's physio. Stopped it last year. But it just seems to be very bad again. I'm wondering if tiredness could be a factor. It's very debilitating and I just want to sit down esp in evening time. Maybe the prolapse has worsened I suppose.

Have you kept up the exercises? You kind of have to do them forever

itoldyouyouwouldntlikeit · 17/09/2018 20:56

Get the hab it DVD or one of those electric stimulator things.
The physio gave me one for a month which made a big difference, now doing the exercises. Seems a bit better

Greengrotbag · 17/09/2018 21:05

Yes I think I've got a bit lazy. Will look into the machine thanks
