to think there's nothing wrong with selling on old stuff?

Facebook friend of a friend (now deleted as all she seems to do is moan) has posted a massive rant about how "skanky" it is to sell on used children's things and that "these people have no shame".

Now, I see nothing wrong with this and quite a few people posted to ask her what they should do with it and her reply was to "skip it because no one wants your old shit" and that if you can't afford to bin stuff then you shouldn't have kids. Surprisingly 2 or 3 people also pitched in to agree.

I honestly had no idea that people would be against this, if it's good condition and usable then I really can't see the issue for the sake of the environment, saving some cash and making a few £'s for the kids piggy banks.

Same here Glue. I've given stuff to charities instead of letting people knock me down. I'd rather give stuff to a good cause than sell it for less than I want and, my god, there are some cheeky sods around. I recently sold a gorgeous sofa on eBay for £160. A couple of dealers offered me £25 for it when first listed and when I checked their for sale stuff I could see that they'd then sell it on for about £200!

I don’t sell them on - but between donating within the family and donating to charity shop, almost all of DDs clothes and equipment have had at least a second life. I know some things have been through 4 more after Dd and are likely to go to a 5th (on both sides).

Some things had to get binned after DD. Fair enough if stained, torn, bobbly etc.

Some things only managed 1 more person.

But not everyone can afford brand new. And when things have been worn but in no ways are worn out, then why the hell wouldn’t you try to make sure they get used again?!

Especially as dc clothes and equipment have such a short shelf life per child - would you throw out all your wardrobe after 1 season and buy everything new again next season? I very much doubt it.
