Will RSPCA do anything

Just reported my NDN for animal cruelty as their dog is riddled with fleas and worms and its stick thin to the point you can see its spine and ribs through its fur and its quite a fluffy dog. The owner leaves dog shit all over our garden that is filled with huge worms so the dog must have a pretty serious case of them. And the owner goes out to work all day and ties this dog up by its neck in a tiny battered cage it can barely move in for upto 16hrs!! We timed him the other day. Never seen this dog walked once since he acquired it a few months ago either so he barks constantly and howls.
All sounds like reason for the Rspca to go round there tomorrow and seize the dog and get it treatment for its injuries and the infestations but will they actually do anything because ive read threads on here before where they don't bother to do anything about it Hmm ive also emailed the local dog warden again as she has already warned the owner about the dog shit in our garden as we have kids. Is there anyone else we can alert ??

Reading your OP I genuinely thought the RSPCA might help - though I have also heard of them refusing to step in if the animal is more than 2 weeks away from death.

Dogs Trust don't have inspectors or do animal seizures - they can only take dogs handed over by owners, unclaimed stray dogs etc.

Does the neighbour supervise the dog when he lets it into the two gardens? It would be very unfortunate if you happened to leave your garden gate open, the dog got out and someone took it to the council pound as a stray Wink They don't sound like the sort of owners to have bothered microchipping the dog, so they'd have to search for the dog and then pay a significant sum to get the dog back from the pound.

Well, the landlord is fobbing you off - if the tenant isn't paying rent, the landlord can't afford NOT to take them to court!

Take the dog when it's in your garden to the nearest vets with neighbours details.
They sound the sort who won't be bothered with the cost of treatment (bet it's not insured either) so would maybe get rehomed.
I threatened my friend's neighbour that either she give me the cat she was neglecting and abusing or I would call the rspca. She gave her to me saying well I don't care about it anyway but I m not getting done for the thing!
