Neighbour hacked through the hedge ?

Hey, yes it’s a hedge thread 😮😬 I live in a terraced house we both social rent and there is a hedge between our homes.

In the 7 years I have been here we both just have cut our own sides and usually it’s been me to trim it’s height. This year I haven’t bothered and it’s growb taller but nothing too extreme.

Anyways last couple days I’ve noticed the next door neighbours has been really hacking into her side like right down to the brown branches / roots considering it’s a full green bushed hedge ... fair do.

Came out today and she’s now hacked a hole straight through the middle of the hedge so I can now see into her garden and she can see into mine. She hasn’t touched the height has continued to hack it to death on her side but I just don’t understand the massive hole in the middle

Before you say ask her ! She had a warning on her tenancy some 5years Ago when I moved in due to her becoming racially abusive so we don’t talk ...

Is this passive aggressive because I haven’t trimmed the height ?

That's not what she's done at all. Confused

I would sort out the height before she tries to hack loads sown so you have no privacy at all.
Regarding the hold, this should fill out in time.

foxotterhare · 16/09/2018 14:14

She hasn't cut a hole in your (overgrown) hedge.

She's attempted to cut a segment off it and gone too far down. Rather than sitting on mumsnet, I'd get the shears out. It needs cutting.

TwoBlueShoes · 16/09/2018 14:19

Yeah, not a hole.

It does look quite untidy. I suspect she was sick of it being unkempt so tried to trim it and balls it up.

Whose hedge is it?

RangeRider · 16/09/2018 14:51

Probably tried cutting it herself, angled the trimmer / electric saw / whatever wrong & buggered it up. Has since given up in embarrassment.

Pinkprincess1978 · 16/09/2018 14:59

Yep I think she has attempted to trim the height and realised it's not as easy as it looked and she was making a mess of it so stopped. I would go and finish it up if you are a more confident hedge trimmer as it does look too tall and too straggling at the top.

WhateverHappenedToTheHeatwave · 16/09/2018 15:07

Yes I suspect she has trimmed it down to make a point to you that it should be lower and you should cut it.

straightjeans · 16/09/2018 15:12

I thought there was going to be a massive space that you could walk through.

ApolloandDaphne · 16/09/2018 15:49

That's not a hole. She has just tried to cut the height down. If the rest was cut to the same height it would look fine.

ChangerChangerson · 16/09/2018 15:49

It looks to me like she's tacking the height but has started in the middle and not at the edge. Possibly knackered by hacking away and not having the right equipment.

I was imagining a square donut type thing going on with a hole in the middle/centre of the hedge before you attached the photo.

that's not a hole Confused
