He seems like a nice bloke but I find his weird intonation really irritating!!

And he was brilliant on Cunk on Britain........

AviatorShades · 14/09/2018 09:40

[grin][grin][grin]@Cunk on Britain. Thanks for the reminderGrin

WhitefriarsDillyDuck · 14/09/2018 09:48

He used to be number 1 on my list of people I would last like to sit next to at dinner (it is a long list, mostly of up themselves men)

But since he left the BBC he seems more human and I have quite warmed to him. Even bought his book.

Aspenfrost · 14/09/2018 09:55

He’s very attractive. YABVU!!

LuckyDiamond · 14/09/2018 09:58

That man adooooooooores the sound of his own voice.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 14/09/2018 10:02

OrdinaryGirl

Me too, bless him.

And after I heard that, I did think his wife must have been the one who would remind him to go to the barber and it made me even sadder for him.

Aspenfrost · 14/09/2018 13:02

He has a new partner now.

spidey66 · 14/09/2018 13:18

I thought you were talking about a character on Corrie. I was going to agree but I don't know who this Robert Peston is.

I'll get me coat.

Bluelady · 14/09/2018 13:19

I love him - intelligent, sensitive, in touch with his emotions, humorous, great smile. My kind of man.

Aspenfrost · 14/09/2018 14:15

I love clever men.

PlatypusPie · 14/09/2018 14:19

Very mannered delivery but at least he has something of interest to say.

Biologifemini · 14/09/2018 14:21

I love him
His mannerisms seem to come from a method of managing stuttering. I think.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 14/09/2018 15:12

His voice and over gesturing are enough to make me turn over every time

ManorGreyhound · 14/09/2018 15:18

I definitely would Blush

maxthemartian · 14/09/2018 15:20

I quite like him. I follow him on fb and his analysis is very measured. He's quite forgiving of the quirks of the various politicians I think.

ragged · 14/09/2018 15:46

I love Peston & his way of speaking. He's trying very hard to break complicated things down to basic simple principles, which is why (I thought) he pauses, to give his listeners a chance to keep up. His style works perfectly for about how fast my brain can absorb the info and understand the implications.

Plus he's sincere, straightforward, and cute.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 14/09/2018 16:14

He seems pretty casual about all thetwittersnipes he gets about his appearance and vocal mannerisms

"Pretty much from the moment I became a broadcaster in February 2006 there have been reams written about whether I have a stammer (my delivery’s been described variously as “whale song”, “strangulated” and like “a dalek)."

The BBC even sent him off on a training course to 'iron out my eccenricities... it failed"

But he does NOT stammer, never has done

twitter.com/peston/status/23348289478852608

"I've been asked twice to review King's Speech, coz of media myth that I stammer. I'm starting to believe I must do, since the myth won't die"

Returnofthesmileybar · 14/09/2018 16:42

Spidey so did I! Blush

JovialNickname · 15/09/2018 19:45

Do you know Robert Peston's hair has it's own twitter account?
