To adore Ravelry

I love finding inspiration for knitting projects and adore Ravelry, any more sites similar that you can recommend? I like being able to search for projects made from the yarn I fancy using and looking at other knitters' finished articles and getting advice on how to fix my mistakes.

Cronesquerness*, get yourself a ball of good quality acrylic like Stylecraft Special DK and a good 4mm soft handled hook to try with. I find that the traditional narrow metal or wooden hooks hurt my hands and may well put a beginner off. A fatter soft handle will make it easier to hold.

My lovely mum tried and tried to teach me and my sisters to knit when at various points, she used to be able to knit anything in front of the tv, she couldn't do it, we'd drive her mad with webs of wool. When she died I promised myself that I would learn to knit even if it killed me and I did, however anything other than knit and purl I cannot do so my limit is scarves, everyone has many, many scarves.
I can also do hats and socks on a plastic loom.
Crochet is beyond me, I have tried to reach myself so many times and ended up putting it away in frustration.
I'd love to be able to knit a jumper or something or a lovely big blanket. I have a loft full of wool and needles but I just can't seem to grasp anything further than the most basic 2 stitches.

I taught my self to knit and crochet. I took to crochet really quickly but knitting took me longer. It really helps with my mental health.

I love the happyberrycrichet tutorial s on YouTube and jayda in stitches.

I have made loads of baby clothes and managed to make a blanket.

I tend to use Pinterest a lot.

Thicker handled crochet hooks are a must, sore fingers are no fun. I have wrapped a strip of that padded tape you use for tennis racket handles around my favourite hook. Looks a bit odd, but makes it so much more comfortable to use

I haven't really looked at it. I must now!

I crochet though I can do basic knitting.

I did knitting first and then taught myself to crochet, watching Bella coco tutorials, I find using a bigger hook to start with really helps especially if your stitches are tight.

Bella coco also has a Facebook group which is brilliant for asking for advice and tips.

I have so much yarn it's unbelievable I think I'm addicted Confused
